I'd like to see the Golem be un-buyable on any ID other than ALG through a FLHook command. I know this can be done easily, and it make sense, considering the infocard.

Would be nice, but that would imply that we would need to add at least a few unique ships for each of these factions.

Let's not make things more tricky than they have to be.
Tech-cells will work just fine.
And: you can never know when you want to offer the Golem to someone in exchange for something. Tech-cells make that possible, whereas your hard-coded solution might bite you in the ass.

Because that is more fun than having such time waster as roleplay done on forums regarding "stolen" tech?

i do not know why the golem is such a special ship in that it requires to be restricted. in order to make a ship special - i guess it needs to justify such a step.

in terms of battletransports - making one unique was no option ( at least not when we keep just one ) - adding BTs to all houses was an objective - and keeping them open to all, too.

same goes with all other "sizes" of transports - but if the rheinland has more than 1 transport that satisfies the role of the golem - the golem could probably made restricted ( which is an admin decision much more than a dev decision - we just do the ini works, but admins make the decision )

however if a faction only has one ship of a kind - chances are that we ( devs ) will not quite appreciate getting it locked.


other than that - there is always the request for unique ships SRP which might ( although not explicitly written down ) be applied to an entire faction. which is also a nice "item" to collectively work for in terms of roleplay, faction storytelling and moneymaking of course. if that request can be applied to an entire faction is also rather and admin decision - it makes little difference in terms of coding it on the dev side. - and we have plenty of slots for ships left in the game.

I don't want to sound like the crabbiest female dog in the universe, but according to the Golem's info card, the Golem is an ALG unique ship according to it's lore, thus justifying the relevant step.

So let's change the infocard to make it less unique. Easier and better solution.
