Can Junkers pirate in Kusari?

We have encountered a rather strange encounter. We were pirated by an Outcast (what is good at this point) with... a Junker.

Omnitting the names so far, because I'm not sure if it's legal or it's metagaming, "are the Junkers able, rulewise, to pirate in Kusari?"

They should be able to, since they don't lawfully operate there anyways, on account of the Hogosha.

So, I get it now. I wasn't really aware of the fact, because as far as I remember, Junkers weren't able to even enter Kusari Space. Damn. How long was I unaware of that fact?

Junkers weren't able to even enter Kusari Space.

Not unable to enter, just unwelcome/hostile. Which is why they can pirate there.

It says on the ID, so I guess you're pretty late.

It was already said and I agreed that I had no recent knowledge on it. I had to check on ID AFTER the whole event, because I haven't had time to check when the piracy occured in fact, because I was busy with both replying and chatting with my faction member about that.

So it looks like we both had incorrect info. It is my fault then... I just can't describe how stupid I feel as a player who thought he is good in Discovery, after a hiatus.
