does that mean you're free to metagame them?
This crossed my mind earlier today. No one ever answered, so I thought I'd make a thread. (Not saying I would do this, I'm just curious).

Using knowledge that your character (the character that blows up the base) would not know normally. E.g if you used a Rogue ID'd ship to find the base, then used a Navy ID'd Capital ship to blow it up.
My simple guess is just no as its against server rules ? But I guess there are almost no way you can prove that unless you confessed or made it really oblivious.
@Hasslehoff - the same reason it doesn't require RP to construct a Core 1 base. It's a self-policing rule to help prevent troll bases from appearing. It helps police PoBs without giving the Admins more work to approve-disapprove them until they go for Core 3.
So are you trying to suggest that Bases above Core 1 are never metagamed and then sieged? I am sure that Bases have been found by certain Characters and then conveniently 'found' again by a Character that can legally destroy it.
I would think it rather naive to think otherwise and as somebody said before 'How do you prove it'?
'I would like to be half as clever as some people like to believe they are' Life is full of disappointments, it is how we handle them that helps to define us, as a person
Would be impossible to reliably prove unless it absolutely fell into your lap.
I'd say typically you just take the knowledge for what it's worth and move on to the next Core 1.

Almost anything we do, while we see the player list and log in a ship that is near the "action scene" can be considered metagaming. But if we can RP it out, then fine. Like, we know a base is there. But when we bring our character to seige it, we can justify it by saying that while on patrol/ or some random crapchat, we can prove that our character somehow got to know the presence of the base
This can be considered borderline metagaming, and not much can be done about it, since there are loopholes in RP which you can use to prove that you are not metagaming. Also, how come you know that he logged in his police character, found the base and siegeing it with another character. If you are defending it in game, like you tell him "You dont know the location of this base.....and so on" in game, this can also be considered metagaming right? Since your cahracter wouldnt have known if he was here before, and how the police character of him suddenly turned to something else.

He got the point. If we want to be RP server, we must preserve this RP.
