If Virus and The Damned got their way round here maybe we would see some HONORABLE combat.

The way I fight:

no VHF's, only a Wyrm.
no nova weaponry
no NB/SB
no running.

If only other people would meet me somewhere halfway...

LF's are awesome in PvP (Fighter vs. fighter).
Nova's kill the fight too easily.
NB/SB is there to be used. And with player looting on, you lose it anyway, so might as well.
Running, well... Depends on if its an honorable retreat or F1'ing.

It would be nice to see one design fighting, but while everything is available to buy
its going to be difficult to go with it. The problem is we would go back to vanilla ....

Really, I thought this was for expanding with new weapons, ships, and capships.

That does not include PvP superweapons.

Sorry Virus, you missed the irony there ... We were arguing on the same side.
I'd be happy if nobody used the the superweps in PvP. Shame to lose them altogether
though.

I think if I infer a little, your saying superweapons are NOT a part of dogfighting, but weapons like that are needed. So, I see now that you were on my side, just sort of... Confusing?...

And no, superweapons can't be removed. They are needed to fight larger ships, like gunboats and cruisers. The best I think you can do, is say "No torps, no Supernovas"

Except that I got fed up with my TDK character, an elite phantom pilot, being pasted by the mk2 VHF's all the time :$

It's not easy being a LF pilot when you get shot at by most of the NPC's, on sight too.

He's now got a Blood Dragon VHF, I'm gonna see what happens when I go destroyer patrol hunting now :laugh: Though neutron weapons go straight through my shield...

oh well at least I can have a fairly even fight with templars now :D

Yeah :) I cleaned my garage last night. Got rid of the talon , the buggy RH cruser and Kusary destroyer. Instead i bought a chimaera (now with my blood dragon i almoust have the kusari collection - need to get wyrm again) , wrath , and Templar. And do u know what? I feel great - like i took of some heavy load off my back. I armed the chimaera exclusevly with Kusari weapons (the new lv 9 guns) 1 tizon and a missle - its a good fighter. I armed the Wrathe with RHeilands best - and a missle. And i Armed the templar with - can u guess - thats right Bretonia's best. Although i found that the guns aren't very well balanced - they use WAYY too much energy for the dmg they do. They do approx 470 hull and use 157 or so energy. Just news flash - salamanka MKII does 489 hull and uses 91 energy. ALthough the weapon effect is great those Adv.splitters just suck... so i went hunting for outcasts - got their weps they have similar effects , but are just red and much more energy/damage effective! This might be a problem to fix. And while we at it we can make the lv 9 versions of the second type House guns (it conserns Liberty , Bretonia ,And Kusary - Rheiland has its 2 lv 9 guns). I mean liberty's magma hammer(very much like the firekiss of RH - but its liberty!), kusari's ... sunfrenzy 2(its 8.33 refire gun ), and the other bretonia gun. That wil be nice. And after they are done we might look up for making lv 10 versions (as well as the salamanka mkIII , wyrm 3 and kraken 3 ) . That will be nice too. But everyithing with its time - 1st to balance the bret gun, then the other stuff...

Er... the weapon description for ALL neutron weapons have the line:-

'neutron weapons are the most energy efficent, but they lack the range of other energy weapons' (thats a rough quote of the top of my head)

The corsairs use neutron and pulse weapons.

Particle weapons (and most of the others too if I remember right...) have:-

'particle weapons use alot of energy'

Plus the BHG's particle cannons has this line too:-

'the -insert weapon name- sacrifaces energy efficency and damage for increased range'

I have noticed that particle weapons use alot more energy then other weapons, apart from plasma ones of course, so it's probably been done on purpose.

And don't forget particle weapons go through graviton shields just like plasma weapons do. So if you can't get pulse weapons (or don't want to use them) mount particle and plasma weapons and you'll still drop a PvP opponents shield fast (and do hideous amounts of hull damage once the shield is down too :laugh: )
