If the primary objection to this faction is lack of factional supervision, would an admin be willing to take up this hypothetical position? Say, Aaron isn't too overworked at the moment, so he could (as some have suggested) make a good supervisor for this.
Ok when i was Admin i spoke alot about this wild faction and Knew a mail was sent to Igiss.
Why now after all that has been said is this now in question, i suggest waiting, waiting for Igiss to respond before this faction gets flamed, Unless Korrd acting as Igiss replacement make a decision.
I will give it to you that this was amazingly well planned out and written, my only concern being that I'm of the mindset that I can see this becoming a PVP whore-type faction really easily if it's not regulated well.
It will have to have very strong leadership and very, unbelievably selective recruiting in my opinion. Don't want a massive group of evil Wild flying around pwning everything they see for fun.
Good luck...but no for now.
There are too many things that could possibly go wrong that we haven't seen addressed yet.
Once everything is solidified and all of our concerns are answered, then you'll receive my vote of confidence.
So the reason it was denied was because it came too fast ("like a ton of bricks")? What does that mean? That you're still considering it? Why not just say that instead of denying the faction request?
It was previously posted to Igiss, Tony (when he was an admin) and Kane, and Igiss himself, as shown by the Gmail proofs, had approved the posting of it in this forum. I myself was under the impression it had to be admin approved first, which is why I asked Kane, who said I should post it, as evidenced by the Skype records I enclosed.
Very nice, been waiting on this. Only thing that bugs me is that this is allready looking like it's going to be another "elite" faction that you can only get into by invite or by knowing someone on the inside. Theres nothing wrong with that, but people like me who don't really want to join a "normal" faction and dont have the time or skills to create thier own are kinda screwed.
For instance. I have a Nomad char with a friend, basically they are Nomads. Now me and the guy who helped with the RP and the story in-game are at a point where we cant continue the story without changing it. A new chapter if you will. This is because one of two things needs to happen in thier rp.
(Nomads finally embrace them and welcome them back "home".)
or
(Nomads continue to be hostile to them and they begin to hate the Nomads.)
Our "Nomads" are purists.
It's also kinda hard to RP in-game with Keepers or anyone else, when your normal playing time is allmost totally opposite of the rest of the players on the server. This also makes it hard to get noticed.
I'm TOTALLY 110% behind Keepers and Wilde and any other in-game faction. But becomming one is quickly looking like it's an unobtainable goal.
Me and my friend Raiden have 4 teamed up chars we play together, i have another friend who dont know alot about rp but is a decent pilot, and we cant seem to "fit in" anywhere here. Were not all about PVP and usually we avoid it but at the same time were not "great" at RP either. Since im like the unwilling "leader" of our rag tag group i really dont know what to do. Switching servers is out of the question, we love it here too much. :P
This is my frustration right now. Suggestions? Help?
What were they supposed to do? Post their faction request in chunks over the course of a month? Sorry to sound snarky, but I really don't understand what it is you guys are thinking.
