Help Downloading Disco for windows 8 ?????

so im trying to download this discovery mod for my friend. He has windows 8 ! Everytime I dl the mod it just disappears and I cant find the file anywhere! do I need to download Freelancer account manager first? what am I doing wrong.

Yes we have download the original game already.

sorry its been years since I had to do this and never on the OS.

Just set the download location to somewhere you can access and go from there. Like your desktop.

The built-in virus scanner/guard of Windows 8 will remove the file upon download if it is marked as false positive, and you won't find it. You might look it up in the quarantine and get it back, or you have to mark it as safe so it won't be deleted.
