Sooo...who'd ride that? 8]

Anyone else still plays this game?
I guess some people might here might even be younger than the game itself...

Also made a nice album of every park I played (and finished so far):

My building style is mostly "clusterblob" though. Not much of a person for nice scenery, I just love rollercoasters winding through each other ... pure chaos.

Just bringing some old nostalgia. Smile

I played it for the fun of sending 2 roller coasters to their doom since their tracks ended right at the end of the other.
I also played it more seriously. I once built this mega park, the result of 5 days of thinking, wrecking and face lifting the park.

Did that both in RCT2 and RCT3, though it's sad that you can't kill the peeps in RCT3 Sad

RCT3 is a disgusting abomination of a game.

This game.. The memories. I don't play it right now, used to love it though. You've got some impressive parks there.

We shall not ever mention those "things" that came after RCT2.

The only true RollerCoaster Tycoons are 1 and 2.

Sadly I can't get RCT2 to run on Win7, it crashes every time a few seconds after it launched; weirdly it runs fine till then. Don't understand why this happens...

RCT1 on the other hand had not a single crash in the whole time I played it. With the addon(s) and having it set to Win 98 compatibility mode as well as running it as admin I had no problems at all - the compatibility mode is actually only because otherwise you can't save/load the game as the save/load-menu doesn't open.

But yeah, some parks I reeeeaaally loved building. I always end up putting as much stuff on one spot as possible, probably also a reason of why I didn't win the Crater Lake (last) park I played - was short just a few guests at the end of year 3...they start to complain if too many people are on one spot.

Ask real nice and I might share my own GoG versions of RCT 1 and 2.

Since GoG is a real cool place that lets you share your games freely.

I like to just time myself with the scenarios I play. Since 1 year is about 1 hour, it's somewhat easier to plan how much time I'll spend on playing the game. But then again ... sometimes I don't feel like stopping after I won the scenario... :o

Just finished the White Water / Aqua park only using water related attractions and mazes (and of course stalls). Actually was much easier then I thought. (:

[06:38:15 | Bearbeitet 06:49:53] Syrus: I win. Park "done".
https://i.imgur.com/jwollcE.png
God damn Imgur wouldn't let me upload the full picture without raping it with .jpg format ... just because it was .7 MB too big...
1.4 mio "money" and 6050 guests. I feel like that was the best park I ever build. And I still don't feel like it is more than half finished.

Took "me" ~27 hours to build that park ... though most of the time was spend having the game run in the background and sometimes building new coasters, taking care of crashed coasters and replacing the destroyed benches and bins ... damn aggressive guests ._.

-----

So yeah, build my own park in RCT2. 8]
