.. why can't the Unioners? Hamburg, Bering, Hudson, these systems are all pretty empty except for the loads of traders passing by. Is there any interest at all in a Unioner faction? I know there was the Workers Front long ago, but that sort of died out due to lack of interest. Now the Xeno Alliance is on the rise, and the Unioners are basically just that except a way down south with less military protection (face it, NY is full of caps, Hamburg and even New Berlin isn't, in fact the RM rarely fight in caps at all) and even more fat and tasty traders to hit. Then there is the fact that they actually can work with the other pirates and raid Berlin, which always has someone in it as well. Did I mention there is no capspamming?

LWB.. well, LWB are like an extension of the Hessians. The Red Hessians farmers division. Doesn't make it any less awesome, they have all of Stuttgart to raid and of course New Berlin. And the Omegas. In fact Unioners have Frankfurt and Sigma-13 as well. So why isn't anyone making a faction?

Rheinland would be epic if all the pirate factions were represented. It would mean more activity, which means even more people, which means... great RP. Me and Kress had this idea of a sort of council of Rheinland pirates. Imagine the standoffs, the coordination, the possible in house conflicts. How cool would that be?

TL;DR why isn't there any Unioner or LWB factions (or even indies) around?

There certainly should be. I see the Unioners as being at least as interesting, if not more interesting, then the Xenos. They have a more reasonable cause. And obviously the whole "angry farmer" thing works, 'cause we have the AFA now. It'd also be nice to have a bit more pirate variation in Rheinland, rather than just the Hessians and Bundschuh. Honestly, the Rheinland criminal groups have much better causes than most of the other pirate factions out there. You could get some great RP out of them.

Staff roles:

From my point of view it's fairly simple : the RM is just too good at what it does.
Besides that, there is one "official" unlawful clan in Rheinland (RHA) that barely has representation on the server that I'm ever aware of, and a Bundschuh one that is trying to get going. Starting another one before either or both of those is solidly established is counterproductive to encouraging successful unlawful activity in Rheinland.
Besides which, this preoccupation with starting factions is both unnecessary and to a great extent a waste of effort. Faction tags in your name attract all sorts of unwelcome attention via oorp means of locating you for elimination using the chat log.
If you are so hot for Rheinland unlawfulness, then start a character and go get tagged as a Rheinland unlawful and start committing atrocities instead of posting on the forum about it. Starting a faction in order to do that is highly over-rated.
I think Dab can chime in here about a couple of wicked gals "from up North" he knows who are quite successful without having to start their own little club.

The main concern comes up here, which was already the obvious reason why the previous Unioner faction was closed down. Have to concur with you here Nathan. Actually, I would like to see Hessians more established and stronger than they are now..

1. Let's try to fill up the RHA ranks first.
2. Let's see if the bundschuh gets approved (would be surprising if not, from my point of view).

3. And finally: Ever thought about Kusari and Bretonia? Please do because, they certainly could use some more players there.

Your right - there is a great potential. But there should be more to sirius then just Liberty (spawn) and Rheinland (end of the line) or Gamma (Here be the evil end of the line), with a diamond run inbetween.

Oh please, please no more Rheinland pirate factions. Rheinland gets whored enough by not only the RP factions, but several out of character pilots that just want to get in there for a fight. There isn't a point to just causing more problems. Maybe try getting some of the less active systems up and running? *Points to Bretonia and Kusari*

Well said.. Kusari could have a new faction as well as Bretonia..

Having different tastes is good but, Rheinland is already way too abused and crowded with several types of pirates. Outcasts, Corsairs, Dragons, Hessians, Bundschuh, Junkers those who are obsessed with scrapping people and now the inbound Nomads of the Wilderness...

Mmkay, whenever I'm on, Rheinland non-trade-whore activity consists of me (Bundschuh), the occasional other Bundschuh (either Hagen_von_Seelenberg or [BU]), one or two [RM], possibly a non-faction Military, and that's it. With the return of the OPG, the Corsairs, Dragons, and Outcasts mainly just pirate S-13 and beat each other up without actually entering Rheinland. I've also only met one Junker in Rheinland, and he was being nice and RP about getting clearance from Hans Krieger. Basically, when there ARE population in Rheinland of any significant degree, its diamond whores. Methinks more unlawful is good, especially of the terrorist variety. Bundschuh are a start, but Unioners are the clinch pin. Even though they've succumbed to a lot of pirating, from the rumors I've read they "pirate" in the same kind of way PvP-whores pirate: "40 mil or die". They really like it when they don't get paid and get to kill the trader.

it is true I dont see many RHA around. Reason more to solidify this faction first, and then go on toward the other options.
