You've only gone through 4 headsets? I've been through at least 6, probably more like 7 or 8... Maybe more.

Fatal1ties are great if you have a limited budget.

As far as my stuff is concerned I have Superlux HD668B (it's immune to the cord-ripping issue Jack talked about) and this mic, but I'd assume you don't want to spend 150 bucks for it, and I'm not particularly up to date with what's hawt now. I used Logitech USB Desktop Microphone for a while a few years back, but I'm not sure if they're manufactured anymore. I heard good words about Trust Starzz and Hama HS-250 mic (although that last one's headset is not particularly comfortable).

Budget isn't really the hold up, i just can't justify spending like £90 on a headset that will probably just break eventually. That and the last one i bought cost me £5 and it was an over ear thing, USB and all. Worked perfectly with the sound comparable to my £46 Sennheisers, though i've had the headphones for 4 years now. The headset lasted 2-3 years, i was kinda sad to see it die abruptly like that after working flawlessly all that time

A4Tech Bloody G501 7.1, it's great and I bought it for just 70 Euros.

The Fatal1ty gaming headset is great! I had it for years and then my cat chewed the chord through. I still have the detachable microphone to stick in my mic-port as an emergency backup.

The drawback was the small ear cup size. It started hurting my ear lobe and the finer tissue holding my outer ear together and the localized pain eventually turned in to a headache which wasn't nice. If you have big ears like me, don't do it!

I am currently very happy with my Logitech G430's. Great headset, great microphone, long cable and good sound. They aren't too pricy either.

Don't buy Turtle Beach stuff. You will be sad.

Buy the ones around 20 Euro, nothing higher.
Why? You will at some point forget you are wearing it, stand up, rip the cord out, roll over the cord with your chair, etc etc etc... and then a 150 Euro one is broken... as is your 20 Euro. In one case, you QQ, in the other one you go to amazon and rebuy, while going npnp.

Believe me, it is real Big Grin (=> 4th headset here)

Jack turned around. He was sure that some knocked at his door. He watched at his clock. It was exactly midnight. A creepy feeling assailed Jack. "Was there a shadow?" He wanted to turn the light on. Jack moved while sitting in his chair to the lamp, suddenly he overran the cable of his headset. It was broken...again. Jack moved to his desk, opened a drawer and fumbled through a bunch of new headsets. While grabbing one Jack thought: Why don't I have a wireless headet.

For the topic: I have this one Steelseries Siberia V2 and in my history (about 6 Headset). It's the best. The quality and sound is awesome.

I guess it depends on who much you want to spent
Im using a Sennheiser PC 360 since it came out as i also used it for shooters
Its a great headset, but its also expensive...
If you just need it for Skype or TS its not the right choice
A cheap one would do a good job as well i guess

Edit: if you take care of your things a good expensive headset is a great investment
