2. It's the first time I heard this survey sound, and I must say I can barely hear anything. Couldn't this be something more distinctive? (and also incredibly classy and cool, too!)

1) That argument doesn't make sense. Do you say the same thing with footsteps and playing CS:GO? No. Play with sound if you want the advantage.
2) listen carefully. Sound in games for locating someone is usually quite too and not in your face. I would rather have a calm quiet sound than an in your face annoying one. and Please no beeping that will just annoy everyone even more, especially with forever cloaking.

An 8k radius seems really, really big.

Other than that, I like the idea. Before I clicked on the video, I was frowning, imagining some obnoxious PING or BEEP going off every five seconds as long as some permacloak K'Hara was around trying to cyber with me, but the noise chosen is actually really subtle.

Cloaks are still kind of a bad thing, but this change is pretty cool.

Exactly. No pings. Imagine 4 cloaked nomads RPing with you... that would be like PING...PING PING... PAPINGPING ...PING.....PINGPING....

also a question: Does the humming get louder if more of them are around? Do they overlap?

Also is it possible to make it so that the closer it is the louder it is?

Sounds like a very subtle effect for the cloak. A personal preference of mine, but I would be really freaked out if they used the sound effects of Starlancer cloaks, as seen in this mission.

Any sound is better than no sound, so good job.

Really cool and creepy.
Very fitting, though would it maybe be possible to use a slightly different even creepier sound for nomad cloaks?
Or is this a "Cloak in general" thing?

Cool!
This will add some paranoia when you are in a cap and you hear it.

we'll see about a different sound when the patch hits as until then I can't use anything else but what we already have. It will never be one of those annoying BEEP BEEP sounds though.

I would suggest some hammering sound like the cloaked submarine in "The hunt for Red October", this sound was creepy, but a sound like this is also suggested to the AI Cruiser as the Drone has a similar sound some "high-pitched". Overall this sound would match a cloaked ship much better though.

This is slightly spooky.

I approve.

Visual effects were discussed/considered, but the nature of cloaks (ships and attached effects are rendered completely invisible) makes this impossible. Hence why it's a sound.

If there are better sounds out there or someone can make a custom one, I doubt changing this would be a big deal. Might have to wait 'till the next update, however.
