I will not take any action unless it has been approved of by the Brettonian authorities, I'm not going to risk my life going solo into what could be a trap. But how long can you afford to wait to determine if they are lying or not?

One of the BPA, I don't remember his name, will attest to the veracity of our claims.
Most of the BPA/Armed forces were captured from small skirmishes.
And the vast majority of the ranking officials were kidnapped or captured from transports escorted by only a few fighters.

Your delay in making a decision has cost 1 police officer to starve to death...

//fpsdoug, please just play along, don't try and use some excuse to just blow this thing off, everyone on the other thread wanted a good RP event, and this is what I came up with, play the game, instead of just saying, that's not possible because the fleet is strong bla bla bla, in terms of RP, let's say the admirals were kidnapped, if you think its unrealistic that we destroyed a battleship

Quote:Thank you friends of Bretonia. However, we cannot believe that these Corsairs will give us our chaps back. Something tells me this is a hoax, how can Corsairs get three of our fleet admirals two of our gunboat captains and ten of our cruiser commanders? I sense a fib! Their forces aren't strong enough to take down three battleships!

As far as the guarantee of returning the officers, I've already said. Each officer will be released, as each transport comes in.
This guarantees fair play from both sides.
A trader brings in 68 food, 2 police officers are released to him to take back to the BPA. etc.

//to make this more interesting, I'll be moving the prisoners onto a heavy tanker or something called [OPG]Desperado, and moving it back and forth from Cadiz Leon and Tripoli (why the OPG would do this, I dont know:P) So if the BPA/QCR wants to attempt a rescue op, there's your chance. Please consider this as secret intelligence, and not talk publicly about it.

// sorry, I just don't see how a group as small as the OPG can get their hands on these high ranking members. It would be good RP if it made sense, but it doesn't. Fleet Admirals would not be escorted by a few fighters in a transport. As for the BPA/Armed Forces pilots, they're a different story.

As I have said, the Police are for protecting the Bretonian public, we will not take part in this. Therefore I will await either Sir Alan's order or that of a high ranking QCRF official.

//In real life, dont the FBI/SWAT take care of hostage situations? They're the police, not the military I believe..

// This is the last OORP post I am making here, it's already to much.

As I have stated, the Police do not deal with hostage situations outside of Bretonia. Contact the navy if you want this to fall through.

This is Detective Inspector Carter Sull of NYS Narc Division...

While I believe that Sir Alan has been appointed the head of the BPA, he is most absent at the current moment. I've got no authority here, but I will say a few words.

In Narcotics, we don't negotiate, regardless of who the perpetrator is, or how the crime was committed. I most certainly expect Lauderdale to follow suit.

I highly recommend that you Corsairs brighten up and turn these men back over to their families.

Negative, we will not back down from our demands.
Ordinary bloodshed failed to catch your attention, maybe this will.

At best, it will be a long time before any of these people see their family or homes again.
Worst case scenario, you delay long enough, or indefinately so that they all starve to death.

For now, as a sign of good faith, we will allow you to send a small shipment of food for them to consume while they await their verdict.

//VERY disappointed the Brettonias responses to this. No wonder no-one ever wants to RP in your area of space. You shaft other people (some of us looking for our first proper RP opportunity) just because your egos refuse to accept this situation could have come around.
