I liked the long list of simplifications/mergings/deletion that is in the OP.

My question is: will more of these get into later updates? So far quite a few things have been changed in regard to systems/de-guarding/merging, but there are a lot more on the list.

Kudos for the changes made so far. This is definitely the right way to go.

Thank you for your effort!!!

Jack

Yes. I haven't edited the OP in a while, but in general we still intend to proceed with these plans.

Could someone, please, give me a sitrep on what is going on with Cassini and whether or not it has already been revised and waiting for implementation.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Unless one of the other Devs has taken the initiative, we're still in the planning phase.
You may Skype me for further details.

I know I am a noob in comparison to the majority of the respondents and likely all of them. I cannot however hold back from saying I don't understand. Does the number of systems drag on the server? We have a beautiful massive, alluring universe in which to play. I don't understand how a lag in use is a problem unless there are technical issues I am unaware of. De-gurading Puerto Rico makes no sense to me personally as one who uses several junker characters. PR, Humbolt and Kansas are all used regularly by junkers. The junker factions are some of the most active and you want to basically 'sanction' us? If I sound offended I am. Hopefully someone can explain better to me why these things need to be done.

Matster they are either removing or deguarding all guard system not just PR since the system is kind of a silly system. They aren't punishing junkers in particular.

I am curious about this:
Quote:Faction Right 7. Official player factions have the right for the purpose of training to utilize a maximum of four (4) ships that are not normally allowed by their ID (These would normally be their adverseries' ships). This is subject to the following constraints:
- This can only apply to factions with guard systems.
- Names of the ships must be clearly different to emphasize their role as training ships.
- They cannot be used for any purpose except training and must not leave their guard system.
- Restricted to Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports and Gunboats.
While not strictly necessary, the faction could host an event of some sort, with the capture or defection of the pilot and his ship being the central theme.

For factions that lose guard status on their home system, FR7 becomes defunct. However, this is not seen as problematic, since Connecticut is now universally accessible (which it was not at the time of FR7's inception). Factions wishing to hold simulated battles and/or combat under controlled conditions can simply use Connecticut, and have participants bring actual enemy ships, rather than OpFor-tagged training vessels.

This thread is being closed because it is quite out of date. A few of the changes listed in the OP have already been implemented, most are currently in progress, and the rest are still some time away. Since work is currently being performed on a per-region basis, it's redundant to have an extra thread to keep update.

There was a sig here, once.
