i am kinda surprised that the zoner gb is a topic at all - but the current suggestion is as follows:
- zoners get a fatter gunboat that fits their design better ( fatter, cause as commented - the current one might really be a little too flat )
- the current zoner GB could replace the montante ( bw gunboat ) placeholder or be dropped - because it also does not look like BW at all ( and although there is no dogma that each ship of a line must look similar regardless of class and size - it appears to be a thing among players )
for that purpose 2 models have been uploaded - the osprey ( which was mentioned in another thread ) and a zoner GB replace that share certain characteristics in terms of material/texture ( a bit .. )
I would personally like the old one to come back, it was a nice ship to fly and one of my favourite gunboats to see flying around. Was rather small and agile but very weak armor.
Thougths
So, after a bit of sleep, here are my suggestions.
Hathor - Replace the current model with the suggested "Old" gunboat
Leave the current Border Worlds gunboat alone. It looks more durable than the Conference, which is in keeping with the BW line.
The current Conference could be re-crafted to make a Researcher vessel, leaving the Corvo as a warship. Switch the Corvo label and description to this ship, and the Corvo can become an actual warship. Add 10k to the core, double the cargo hold and add a hyperspace equipment bay and you have a vehicle that can carry the hyperspace scanner (special sensors), but cannot jump due to power core limitations or scan by itself because of insufficient fuel carrying capacity. This would disassociate the Researcher functions from the Zoner ship line.
I like the old conference more than the new one. But the hathor was already replaced by an old model, the same time when the conference model was replaced, and it was per request cuz folks in order didn't like the GB then.
So what I would suggest is: bring the old conference back, as The Conference, and use the new one as a BW GB, that can be based in a zoner design...
