Just got out,new version.
Never played CF before or any other FL mod except Disco.
This caught my eye cause there is SP involved so i give it a try and i didn't regret.
13 vanilla missions and 30 new SP missions more.
4 new galaxies (you can see them at the end of the vanilla story in Minor )
Good storyline,excellent graphics,systems are just beautiful,many new ships(compared to disco) and new weps.

Vanilla missions are much harder then original ones,new missions are...well you'll see if you try it.

Coalition galaxy is awesome-Altar sector.Just awesome.Weapons are crazy.
Dam Kavash galaxy is awesome too-Inner Core.Weapons are crazyier.
Coalition gatling gun:
364 hull
282 shield
1100 range
1100 speed
8.33 refire

Order photon cannon
977 hull
578 shield
1200 range
1000 speed
3.03 refire



Dam Kavash and Ancient( oldest race) weapons are evan stronger,like disco codies on crack.
Many wrecks with surprises and more...

I did get that old feeling of rush and adrenaline like first time playing campaign.

I didn't like some things:to much distance between way points in Kavash and Coalition missions.
Flying 100-200 k is almoust rule,if you get killed ( and you will) it's all that flying again.

Sol sector-Earth is something alse,Order is there,diferent graphics...interesting.
First Sol sector mission: 300k till WP Smile
It's still beta,as much as i heard missions can be added and so on.

If anyone of you guys want to remind how's it feels to play vanilla again in different environment maybe you should try it.
I didn't regret and i will play CF Sp again,difficulty of missions is changing depending how you play it.

I played it too it's awesome the nomads look freaky. The coalition gattling guns were the best part of the mod imo. The graphics were incredible. I think disco should incorporate some of that stuff.

I'll evan go crazy and say that Disco should merge with CF.

Balance is nonexistent in Crossfire.
I've played it, loved it, almost killed myself because of a transport mission headed to Sol.
Second playthrough though. Somehow, it worked the first time I played. And that was 1.9 too.

Anyway, yeah.
Balance is a rare thing in Crossfire. It's fun though. Merging will also be pretty tough, considering that many people don't even have the PC for the Crossfire graphics.
Gameplay is different aswell. Vanilla is way behind Disco, and Caps/Transports have no shields.
And imho, the best part of the Mod was the CSF Titus. Or the Nike. Delicious ships.

They seams to change lot of things in 2.0,specially some missions players complained about.
Missions we're to tough for them.Transport mission to Sol is like child play now,evan boring.
It gives you a chance to dock to planet Earth and buy those Order photon cannons.
But some other are suicidal at least,only "Good mode" helps.
Yes,there is a disbalance but not that much.

I don't know if merging is possible,,i'm not programer or engineer.
All i know i would like to see those systems and graphics in Disco.
But from what i hear,that issue is a "heresy" for some people.
And yes-you're right,it's demanding for pc,but space and graphics are really really great.

Well, I played the story, activated godmode, tasted the story. Checked out the way to large and disbalanced mp and turned back to disco.

Coalition carrier undocking is on the other hand one of those "God mode" missions.
Warrior ships pretty much kill you twice while undocking movie still runs Smile
You have like 2 sec to reload bots and then another 2 sec to do that again.
Then you die.
But it's fun and weapons looted if you kill some of them is unbelievable.
Same goes for Ancient drones wep.

I wasn't complaining about the lack of balance. Fighting 3 Sabres with 6 Wyrm MK II's each on a Hornviper Falcon is always fun. (The Mission when you go to Sol for the first time, in Dublin.)
And the transport mission isn't 'child's play' when it's more of a frustration contest. The transport doesn't even get to Earth and it slides above the Warp thing and it gets stuck.
Tried replaying, didn't work. Gave up on it.

And besides, the game is sometimes even too easy. Luckily there's a new difficulty bar in the options menu, where people can pick a difficulty to their liking. I haven't found anything particularly hard, even on the hardest difficulty, with the exception of those three Sabres. Had trouble with them.

And- Punisher, the Nomad Carrier mission is one of the easiest on in the whole mod. Besides you being almost impossible to hit, you have smaller nomad NPC's for regens and you can always just use torpedos or mines until you deal enough damage, then a million allied capitals razor the living daylights out of the thing and you win.

What's hard to beat are the Inner Core bastards. Without a proper ship that place is just insane.
But, well- I haven't reached that point in 2.0. Couldn't be arsed to deal with that Transport Mission to Sol. It was bugging me since 1.9, even if I somehow did it on my first playthrough.

It's a shame, really. I had fun playing it the first time, and I was really excited for the final chapter. But I can't get past that mission, and I've lost too many hours in the past to try and make it work, back in 1.9. Didn't want to lose that much time on 2.0.

Me and Snakelancer got yesterday CF 2.0 and after 6 hours flying there nonstop here is my opinion:
1- Map of Sirius is terribly messed up due to that system full of JGs, they should have made it easier to look at
2- Severall systems are HUGE, Sol system is bigger then whole damn Liberty. But I like how Sol is done.
3- Imports. Imports everywhere. This ugly Starlancer ships in Coalition makes me wish of 4.85 Coalition ships. But ships that was created by CF mods look great. And there is a bunch of them too, not like on disco.
4- Grafics ofc, grafix is just worth that ammount of harddisc size. And music ossum too. Ive never though FL can be that beauty without crashing nonstop
5- Speaking of crushing, server not stable one. Dropped 4 times during my 6 hour flying. really annoying.
6- Ballance so far none to see, some caps look to be strong while others of same type look weak. Capships have weak shields, weaponry is very limited and so far the best gun I saw was Coalition Gatling.
7- DomKavashs and Noms is fun to encounter and fight with. I was told its not only aliens too, later more exploring.
8- Galaxy map, that made me go "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" happy girl sound. Really liked new sectors. But ofc it gives us same problem Disco have - too much space for so little players.
9- RP, Clan system, Lore and more new stuff this game makes it different from Disco. Something is fun, something made me spit, something was expected to happen. What Im just gonna say is the disco term of ZOI dont exist in CF at all, not players not NPCs follow it.
10- Coalition. That deserves additional note - I love it. Yes, it have terrible Starlancer ships, somewhere its quite OP, but damn it how I love to see strong and big Coalition finally. Altair sector is full of mystery and Coalition stations and planets are really great. Id also like to see war with Alliance, but I was told that now its Human vs Alien more. I would just wish better ships and fixed NPC names finally, this broken Russian makes me laugh. Also Ive got myself ship called Devil. So far its best looking Coalition ship to my taste and quite good one too in terms of stats.

Im going to explore it more in next days so dont expect me to show up on Disco often, if I will log then its most likely gonna be Snakelancer's call to log.
