I'd be okay with Colonials if they were in snubs or bombers, but if I see a Zephyr I'm going to throw myself out of a window.

Why? Prefer loose?

People keep seeming to miss the fact that this is a Liberty Navy Operation. Not some drunks going out for pot shots on the old backyard fence.

You fail to understand that asking liberty too do something is pretty much asking the drunks to go out for pot shots, pretty much all indies are going to lolgank you.

I understand its a liberty operation but ask yourself, lolgank? or semi-lolgank?

So what's the point of fight? I can come on Councill against GRN. Or on GRN ship, Or Bretonina ship. What you like most? Smile

This already looks like 9999 BAF\LNS against 1 GRN fighter. Maybe there will be /restart GRN stuff for people who would like to take part but do not have GRN ship?

In other questions: Can Corsairs help GRN? (sun)

Would make a better preliminary target for a push on the Oubli and also focuses the event into an attack/defend parameter, which will garner a lot more attention.

Also, another interesting thing to note about the Oubli is that lore-wise, it's said that the entire command staff that's overseeing and coordinating the ground offensive on Leeds is sat safe in there. Would blowing the ship up with those staff inside then be a factor in the storyline?

Did you even, uh, you know, attend the last event? Just because there aren't many GRN|, doesn't mean there aren't any GRN. NPC battleship spawns will also be used to support the smaller side.

In addition, seeing as people keep getting confused about what counts as an infocard ally, I'll run through what they say right now to clear everything up once and for all:

TEAM A:

BAF - BPA, Bretonian Corporations,
LN - LSF, LPI, Liberty Corporations (Leeds not in ZoI).

Strange factions: BHG and Exiles (alliances noted in their infocards, but not on the other faction's).

TEAM B:

GRN - GRP, Gallic Corporations.

Which means technically, other local groups which specifically are not invited (unless the admins want to specifically invite them) include:

CR, Council, SCRA, Outcasts, Corsairs, Gaians, Mollys, Freelancer, Bretonian Privateers. Anyone else not specifically mentioned above.

May I ask why Council ended up in the "not invited" category while Exiles, and a semi-generic faction such as BHG could make it into the "invited" category? I believe Council is on par with Exiles regarding the relevant aspects and beats BHG at them:
  1. Allied with Bretonia as per lore (BHG is technically employed by all houses, lawful entites, so nothing special here)
  2. At war with Gallia: Council is the most ancient enemy of GRN (afaik BHG can't do crap against lawfuls, not even as part of a bounty contract, that might have been changed though, but they are still just bounty hunters)
  3. Close proximity and ZoI allowance (BHG is Sirius-wide and so are their bases spread throughout Sirius, but we aren't inviting Freelancers, Zoners, Junkers either, are we?)

In short: I'd rather not categorize participants merely on infocards, and would rather look at lore behind their potential involvement.

(I also wonder what Bretonian corporations would do in a battle, but I can only guess that you listing them as invited while also being a corporate leader yourself is just a coincidence.)

1) I've nothing to do with the event's management - I'm clarifying the situation using the rules as they currently stand to the letter, for people who're refusing to read the OP. Neither BAF nor the Council are allied to the other in their infocards, ergo, by the current guidelines they're not invited unless an organiser says otherwise.

2) I'm not a corporate leader. Bowex isn't my faction, however much it appears otherwise. Still it's a moot point - no coincidence. If "Bretonian Corporations" weren't listed on the BAF's infocard, and they didn't have Leeds in their ZoI, I wouldn't have listed them. It's a pretty basic concept. Why do you think Liberty Corporations and LPI were also listed but crossed out? Must be some sort of conspiracy.

I'm personally interested in cracking out some Bowex bombers, yes, but if they weren't specifically allowed to attend as stated in the OP, I wouldn't have raised any fuss. (sun)

Oh for f***'s sake!

People will you finally shut up, the ADMIN/MOD/DEV will plan the event, you can make recommendations and suggestions but NO bloody player in here has decision rights on HOW it will go, it is all up to THEM, get it guys!

And for the record CHECK the bloody OP, and then ASK the ADMIN/MOD/DEV WHAT counts as allies in PM for clarification, be it via infocard or lorewise.

Sweet Jesus when do these ...people check that the players have no bloody say and stop reacting to every lolwut saying "THAT is allowed/THAT isn't allowed"

EDIT: The post before my post, kind of my words just in polite mode.
So basically "WHAT HE SAYS!"

I actually agree with the sentiment that we should look at the lore behind potential involvement, and as the current Mr. Security of Bowex, I feel I should clarify a few things. We have been co-operating with the BAF as a sort of Civil Defense Initiative since ages ago. In practice this means that whenever the BAF needs additional support, we are there. We have also been running supplies to Leeds for a very decent amount of time, enough to very firmly plant us in the seat of "Main Supplier of the Front". With all those things in mind, I think we have a rather decent case to be concerned with Leeds.

As for the Exiles, they have been raiding GRN installations in Leeds as well as assisting the effort to supply the Bretonian front, besides having Leeds in their ZoI and using the armed forces satellite as a refueling point.
