"Your forgetting something Jadyn," Kavannah said as Sayne walked away. He halted and clenched his fist, his temper swaying dangerously close to the edge. "I'm a Lane Hacker, not a member of your Darkside rabble. You and I can swing punches at each other for as long as it takes. But you are not my boss and you do not tell me what to do."

"Alright Kavannah," Sayne turned around, his blaster back in his hand. "You've asked for this."
He squeezed the trigger and the pistol kicked in his hand. The laser bolt however never found its target as it sparked on an invisible forcefield that had been erected in between the two men. A blaster appeared in Kavannah's hand and with a crack of red light, a bolt impacted on the decking between Sayne's boots. The bastard had ordered a one way forcefield be erected as Sayne had been walking away.
"I'm considering your offer," Dale continued, "But I've not signed up just yet, you might want to look to your lackeys and get your information right."

"You will get in line," Sayne pointed a warning finger at Dale, "And mark my words I will end you if you cross me again."
Sayne turned and marched off down the corrdor, a thundercloud of anger hanging around his head. Dale pressed a button on his wrist unit and deactivated the forcefield. He was lucky control had got his message in time or Sayne would have shot him dead. He turned around and made for the canteen, he had somethings to think about. As much as he despised Sayne Jadyn, joining Darkside was tempting indeed.

Merlow watched from the sidelines, a smug look on his face. This Dale Kavannah was a bit of a loose cannon, something he didn't exactly like, especially if he was to be working along side him. The Kanzaki Yakuza would never accept such behavior, but he wasn't in his universe any more. The only people he had left from the old days were few in number, and they were all working to contact the appropriate Yakuza underbosses in this universe. Whether he liked it or not, he would have to put up with asses like Kavannah and psychopaths like Sayne. The only difference with Sayne was he was good, in fact damn good at what he did. He was a killer through and through, and he was one of the best. He was just a little... unstable.

Kyon, his second in command walked up along side him, watching Kavannah bark orders for some medical assistance.
"Looks like another madman in a mad universe." Kyon stated, lighting up a cigarette.
"Looks like another fool to me." Merlow replied, walking across the hanger bay, "I'm getting sick and tired of these worthless maggots. They do nothing but hinder progress."
"They do serve a purpose. They attract attention to them. Without them, we would have no notoriety. We want to be known, to an extent."
Merlow snorted, "Bull****. I've seen men like that time and time again, and all I've seen is failure and bravado. They're not worth their weight in lead."
"So be it, but there will always be men like him. Always."
Merlow shook his head as they approached the door to the bar. He flicked out a cigar and lit it, inhaling deeply at the door.

I've lost people who meant the world to me...and I'm still doing just fine.
