Individual players. Why the hell are they treated like crap at times? Ohh I see... Just because you have a tag it means you are better?

No.

When you encounter Indy players dont wave them off with their rp. Don't treat them differently or with less respect than the official faction. There are people behind those ships that wana have fun. Don't brush them off automatically.

"oh it is just an Indy..."

No. It is a player pertaining to a faction. Treat it as such.

Oh have you been playing for longer and think you deserve more? Please. If you have played longer than you know how much of a pain in the butt that is.

How about respect them, invite them, play with them, interact, notice them.

We need to make a change here, folks. This behavior we have now especially from leaders is toxic.

So who's actually doing this? Generalisations aren't terribly helpful if it's specific people being dicknuggets that are the problem.

I actually like independant players who RP. Heck, I even prefer them over tagged players a lot of the time. They are a lot more unique rather than falling into a mold made by a faction.
I think you are generalizing a bit, not everyone treats 'em bad.

Ye how about we keep this thread from trial-by-forum.
No Jammi. Just cuz you know you don't do it doesn't mean others dont.

People who read this WILL KNOW WHO THEY ARE.

As in... Themselves.

Absolutely, what Boo and Jammi said.

Especially in recent times, I've never really seen people be anything but nice to individual players. Of course that falls apart if the individual player is not being the most communicative, or is being ridiculously hostile. People tend to get upset in such scenarios.

EDIT: Hold on, you want to not make this a trial by forum and yet you're saying "People who read this WILL KNOW WHO THEY ARE."

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

I'm sensing a personal issue with some players here. Perhaps it was much like the scenario I mentioned. Maybe it is more suited to a feedback thread. Lord knows those need attention.

Mkay. "I don't think indies are bad. They're pretty great actually." Seeing as we're not allowed to know who's actually causing the problems, that's about as far as we can take this conversation.

Generalization.
In a way we ARE better than indies. Not from like (it's a bit hard to explain) an individualistic player viewpoint, in terms of things such as thoughts and feelings. But as official factions we carry so much more responsibility. That in itself is what places us on a higher pedestal.

I'll play alongside indies as much as the other confused people who posted above me, if not more because Core desperately needs more indies, but you have to understand that official factions do have their justifications for their position vs indie position. Think of it as like we're shepards of a flock.

I've been accused for not caring for Junker indies, in regards to the Salvager nerf. I merely advocated for the change because it brought about numerous problems with the way Junkers interacted with other factions, and was also one of the reasons why Pscrap got nerfed. A nerf which I really want to see reverted, so that Junkers have a decent mining commodity again rather than the poo one we have now. Ultimately I merely wanted to make one of the aspects of the ID fun again.

I care a lot for Core indies, not only because they're in short supply but also because they're a key aspect in winning fights as well as faction development. I tried to bring something new to the table for them to play with, in the form of ZoI Core laws (Core ID is so linear: shoot x, y and z) but that did not fly with the admins unfortunately.

So don't tell me I don't care about my indies mkay thanks.

As others said. It´s impossible to address any problem without providing something specific. And you doesn´t have to commit trial by forum, you can provide some example in form of "yesterday I saw two players from certain official law enforcement faction who treated indie player who tried to RP with them like a dirt and mocked him for bad RP."

I don´t think there is much of that so called "elitism of official factions" now. If you see some isolated incidents, you can use faction feedback or contact leader. If you see some kind of general problem, you should provide some examples how is it manifested so we can talk about.

Simply stating "Don't treat indies differently or with less respect than the official faction." is nothing new and there´s not much to discuss then.

On a ragebreak. Or ragequit. Time will tell.

This whole thread is probably because he got treated badly once as an Indi.

Well i saw alot of interactions with indie players. more than 90% of people talking nicely with us, but other 10%. When they need help they not asking... THey order us to help. And when they don't need it, then giving you order to get away from him. Also i saw 1 RM cruiser who scanned me and then told me: "Get lost, you're clear". That was strange.
