Currently farming Nomads for remains is a bit... problematic and has encouraged a whole slew of bad or OORP behaviour. It was always intended as a stop-gap measure and not a permanent one.

As an alternative, recreate the H3 mining system around the anomalies that exist in various places. Small gas crystals that spawn around the the anomalies themselves. These would drop an ore type commodity that could either be sold on Research Stations or to PoB cloak factories.

Tweak the drop rates so the further from House Space they are the faster they drop and the more lucrative they are. As an example, Omega 3 has an abysmal rate because of its location. The one in NY shouldn't drop at all, all things considered.

Anomalies could also be scattered around the interesting systems like Chester that don't have maps. Plus dangerous systems like the deep Omicrons. Give the sole mining bonus to the Voyager deep space freighter. Perhaps also to the Researcher ID if that makes a return. Sorted.

Thoughts?

I am a fan of farming but not of having to travel to distant systems in order to get the materials.

I dont see how H3 mining could work since what you have to be near a facility for Nomad Battleships to spawn?

I am more a fan of the idea of each house having its own Omicron 99 system where they can farm nomads.

Liberty could farm in Alaska, Kusari in Tohoku, Bretonia in Chester etc etc. This idea is easier since it keeps close to the original concept while removing the possibility of ships being in OORP locations to farm as they would be farming in their own ZOI.

The Omicrons are one big pvp arena now where 90% of the "role play" is steering the interaction to have the desired outcome - your demise. I flew my Nephilim to Baffin since in the last 4 months there hasn't been a single time I'm flying around there that some idiot comes along looking to start a fight. Nobody even gets the name - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hobson%27s_choice

Owners of Nephilims, stop attacking everything in sight - you're part of the reason for the rep hack.

A nomad farming replacement is already in the works (thank god). It will take place in the Omicrons and it'll be easy for Omicron factions to make use of it.

I tried to change things, it didn't go anywhere due to various complications.

lets hope its not like finding stationary wreaks...

It would be cool top if the nomad remains or whatever the new thing is would be in wreaks that can move randomly and spawn in a random location with every restart .

Same thing with codes... But that would be too much to ask?

Think something outside of Nomad Remains. New stuff is being introduced. (Still of Nomadic origin on the cloaking requirements ofc)

(Pretty much a general claim. A lot of new stuff are going to be introduced.)

I've heard this like at least half a year ago.
