PREFACE: This is a discussion thread. constructive opinions and criticism of the idea or alternatives/modifications to the idea only. Anything else, keep it out of the thread.

Idea:

Ok, the SRP system. The reduction in cost instituted by the admins a while go was good and made a bit easier to access for players. But it could be a bit better.

My proposal is to have a two-tiered SRP system. it will work like this:

- Tier 1 - Technerfs
for 100M (example price) and providing sufficient RP about the acquisition and procuring, a player can apply to have technerf altered on up to three (3) ships up to cruiser class. Of course the class of the ship(s) would be require a small difference in the amount of RP required, with cruisers requiring more (but not much more) than a bomber for example. Battleships would require the most RP, 150 million credits and their own application (so no other ships on the application.)

Now, this would still be subordinate to ID ship class restrictions, so no getting a cruiser for FLs through tier 1.

- Tier 2 - IDs and allowances.
Tier 2 is what the current SRP system would equate to. Tier 2 is for SRPing IDs, extra conditions or abilities that the player's normal ID couldnt grant. This could include extra ZOI, conditions or one of the SRP only IDs. This would retain the current monetary and RP requirements.

Sure, it's a little convoluted with two levels but it allows players who work closely with a faction to more easily use that faction's technology without or with lesser nerfs than currently under the technerf system.

We sorta automatically judge SRPs based on what they're asking. While the monetary thing is more or less the same across the board, if you're trying to SRP something small, we don't expect pages and pages and pages of RP beforehand.

People like to pump up how hard it is to actually SRP something, when they haven't even tried. If you put in effort deserving what you're trying to get, you're most likely going to get it.

No need to make things complicated. People merely need to stop being afraid and try for things. Most SRPs recently have been approved. The ones which haven't, for very obvious reasons.
