We carried that over due to the previous faction and past lore. They were the ones that told us of Kruger's actions, so we sided with them after the 80 year war to continue our trade of H-Fuel into Rheinland. Might knock them down to neutral after some discussion.
That also brings an interesting note. While we still wish to trade with Rheinland, we plan on not exactly being buddies with them.
I am confused to whether you intend to usurp the GMG or have a fresh start. Suggest that you develop your own story line and diplomacy, rather than cherry-picking the parts of the GMG-lore that you do like.
Alternatively, you could, you know, just join the GMG.
Next, you've divided your faction into three, mining, transport & paramilitary. Will you be havibg separate recruitment threads, or is each player expected to maintain three ships? What is your command structure? Which of the three sub-factions takes precedence? For example, if the mining leader wants a player to mine, but the transport leader needs ore shipped, and the paramilitary leader wants some snubs in space, and the anonymous leader is AWOL, which set of orders takes precedence?
If each player is expected to maintain three ships, do they get a stipend to fund initial purchase?
You don't seem to understand what this faction is. Ryukyu was the ground side section on Miura that has gone space side. Its a different story and background from within the overarching GMG. As such, we still follow GMG NPC lore and diplomacy. We aren't "cherry picking" anything really when it comes to the NPC faction lore.
As to just joining the GMG| faction. The Ryukyu Guild has a different story, background, and flavor than them. We intend to show the story of Ryukyu and decided this is the best way to do that.
To the three different divisions. I'm starting to question if you have seen how factions do things. You can do whatever you like. Want to trade? Go hop in a transport and trade. Want to mine? Go grab a miner. Want to defend the Sigmas? Hop into a snub and blow up pirates. You seemed to have jumped to conclusions, and we will let members do as they please with a long leash, so long as is matches lore and faction roleplay (along with the rules, of course).
1. you kinda are cherry picking if you're not following the diplomacy

. This seems to suggest a certain self-imposed leeway with relations. Okinawa borders the nomicrons, and the order are the defense line. Why wouldn't you be friendly with them? This universe is set post-wilde, the order aren't the terrorists anymore (its the french now :joke
2. you seem to have missed my point whilst simultaneously calling into question my experience of faction membership (Benitez, Mandalorians, BAF, and i've even started four factions). As I cannot see what your experience is as you think that you need to remain anonymous, which in the light of acquired wisdom that a man knows his own life best suggests that you really do need to remain incognito, I will ask again: which division has priority? what is your structure?

1) To be fair, you don't need to be a carbon copy of something to be based on them / extend from the same source material. In this particular scenario, it seems that this Guild is saying, "yes the past's events happened, and we'll base our own conclusions on how to proceed forward appopriately. We're not retconning the GMG|'s actions away". Presumably this Guild is a bit more reticent about relations with the Order due to the organisations status in both Kusari and Rheinland, and a lack of first hand experience.
2) There's no need for prioritisation between divisions. Members will log the ships they want to use, that's the nature of the beast. If there's a mining operation going on, then a shout would likely go out in the chat asking for miners/haulers. People will log in as they see fit. That's how Bowex/BMM does it, and pretty much every other faction I know of. Nominally Bowex's trade wing is senior to security, but practically that makes no difference whatsoever. You can't force players to log. They'll log what they enjoy.
That said, I'll reiterate that you guys really should at least disclose who the leader is. Fair enough having an anonymous roster, but the leader's name is actually important.
Because it seems so important, Hello. This is my faction idea.
I was hoping to keep quiet of who was doing this to get honest opinions on the faction and the concept, which did work at first. But for some reason the players names are a big deal. Let the bias show itself, I guess.
Anyways. Jammi pretty much said what I would have so I'll leave it at that.
