Edit: Also, Laura, now that you mention it - why don't you enlighten me and tell me about these "toys"? What, cloaks? Jump drives? PoBs? Please, these were c.a.n.c.e.r since the day 1 when they were introduced. I wouldn't be upset if they vanished, no, exactly the opposite, i'd cry of happiness.

Maybe you should try to realize that people have fun in different ways and your way is not the only right one. For example POBs - there were some which created some solid roleplay around them. Yes, it is minority, but in same way only minority of players can provide you really good roleplay. There are people who has fun doing stuff around POB because they don´t enjoy PvP for example. If you remove POBs, this type of players will be much more likely to leave the server.

This "serious illness" how you call it lured back quite a lot of former players which came back to try them. Sure, some of them said this sucks and left again, but some of them stayed and started to play again. It also gave current players reasons to test them and thus motivated them to play. Sure, there were some mistakes, but that is necessary part of implementing anything new.

By the way, I started playing on the server at the end of 4.85 and do you know what posts I remember from these time from general discussions? Lot of people crying that "Disco is dying because there is nothing new and people got bored and leave because there is same stuff for long time. Give us new toys or this place will die!" Devs tried and now we have people crying "nooo, get rid of this new stuff or this place will die, let´s revert back".

Also, for how long do you think that mod can live on same version without any new toys? Year? Two? Three? How long it will take before majority of players will get bored and leave because there will be no more interesting reasons to log?

4.85 just had its equal share of issues. At this rate you'll ask to revert to 4.83 and figure out it also had problems, and eventually we'd revert to 4.77.

Exactly. I remember from end of 4.85 times lot of people complaining, for example about overpowered ships (just like now) and guns (just like now) and about stupid ooRP ship/gun combos (because there wasn´t techcompat, so this is something we don´t have anymore) and skypefriending and bias connected to giving stuff between factions (this continues to present days of course). And of course there were hackers, trolls and scumbags all around as well as lot of players who couldn´t say a single word in english, and of course lot of space Russians (no offense intended). I could go on but I think I made my point clear - nothing really changed, 4.85 really wasn´t flawless and shiny and people were complaining about stuff a lot in same way they complain now.

I imagine you would be happy if server would suddenly switch back to 4.85. However no one including you can assure that this won´t end with average of 15 players online instead of current numbers. When we speak about enlightening, can you enlighten me how this move would make player count better? Do you really think that those who left would happily return because you could lure them with "hey guys, we have your favourite four years old stuff again, come back!" (and this will be definitely hot stuff to lure newbies) ?

Do you really think that this number would be bigger that number of those who would ragequit because their POBs will be gone or their RP which they worked on sometimes for years will be useless over night (all Gallia related RP would turn into useless and that actually means lot of roleplay which happened also in Kusari, Bretonia and Liberty). And do you really think this number would be so great to return average player count during week to lets say 100-150 players? Because I definitely don´t.

Why i am bothering with this i have no idea, do not see any reason i would ever come back. and Spazzy since you do not get it, killing off the other servers is not going to bring people back. I did not leave this and go to another server. i deleted 5 accounts of ships and left 2 POBs to die for all i cared. Main reason i left was not because there were other servers, main reason i left was all the oorp hate many of us dealt with. Another reason is so many ships i loved to fly were nerfed to the point of being easy targets because so many pvp whores cried to the devs that they were overpowered. I did not like snubs, one of my favorite ships was the pilgrim liner. But all the guns for transports pretty much had too short of range that most could barely get past the ship itself. So even with a cap 8 Pilgrim 1 little fighter could zip around it without getting hit. Seems to me like so many cried because they wanted to do solo piracy and never lose a fight. Back before they messed up the bolters were changed I could hold my own in a fight against 1 snub or a bomber. Last time i flew it and was pirated by a little puny fighter i had no chance at all. (Before any of you say I had no idea what i am doing in a fight, just hush) Anyways main reason i left was a large portion of the community members and the attitude they have. So many pvp ones seem to feel they need to oorp pm people hateful crap. Either they feel they are above someone because of the faction they choose (Mainly junkers) or they have to tell a person how bad they are at pvp. Well i guess that's ok since this is a pvp server and not an RP server. Also did not help that one of the biggest junker haters was a dev. (gonna be nice and no drop any names here, btw not you Ally always liked you and your a good dev) Anyways I am done flame on with your hate and insults like so many of you do. (Makes me laugh at you anyways) I am out and this will be my last post ever.

Oh also funny thing, does not help when some of the members who have friends in high places apparently get things removed and covered up without and sanctions being filed. Managed to catch a post that was removed but never anything was done to the person. Go figure seen others get sanctioned for the same thing but i guess he/she was special and above the rules. Anyways like i said...... let the flaming hatred begin..........
