Desmond Hal Netreba (* 787 A.S. on Planet Manhattan) is a former member of the Liberty Navy (Secondary fleet).
He claimed to command the LNS Clarion which is a Liberty Navy "Overlord" class battleship.
Childhood & Education
While his brothers' goal was to join the commercial company "Interspace Commerce", Desmond Netreba decided to take the path to join the ranks of the Liberty Navy.
Desmond was young when he made this decision, so he wasn't fully aware of the political struggles the Republic of Liberty had.
During his spare time, Desmond participated in many programs of the Navy such as shooting ranges and later on, even test flights in a Guardian Fighter.
Netreba finished his Training Program successfully, so he could join the Liberty Navy.
The Liberty Navy
Netreba has been in the ranks of the Liberty Navy for many years. He had a daily routine, mostly patrolling in Liberty space.
His supervisors experienced Netreba's expertise and promoted him. From then he was working on the bridge of the LNS Clarion.
Bridge of LNS Clarion
Working on the bridge of a battleship wasn't an easy job for Netreba. Since the LNS Clarion was stationed in New Hampshire to fight the bloody war against Rheinland, there were many incidents of maintanance of the Clarion when the Rheinland Military managed to direct hit the Overlord class battleship. The Clarion managed to escape or fight the enemy every time it has been attacked.
Commanding the Clarion
Before the former commander of the LNS Clarion died to natural causes, he wished Netreba to become the next commander of the mentioned battleship.
Netreba was experienced enough to know what to do in any case. He has also learned how to command an Overlord class vessel.
From now on, Netreba was commanding the Clarion in the bloody war of Liberty and Rheinland. Many of his men died, his family suffered under the circumstances the war brought into the Republic.
Netreba began to think about the reason of the war. What exactly was he fighting for and why. He didn't ever share his opinion or discussed about it.
He simply made one decision: To not stick on the war anymore and do what the law enforcements were supposed to do. Protecting the civilians from threats.
Commander Netreba had access to LPI Huntsville where he secretly got in touch with arrested Hellfire Legion members.
It was a great risk to trust these prisoners. Though, both Netreba and the legionnaires had the same intention: Fighting for the innocent.
Netreba had a deal with the prisoners. Together they planned how to get the Clarion to the Legions fleet, therefore the Clarion will take said prisoners to Vespucci.
Some prisoners were confused and stayed in prison. Some accepted the deal.
Set sail to Vespucci
The plan was finished, everything was prepared. The LNS Clarion was on its way to Hellfire Legion space with the intention to hand over the Clarion. By using several shortcuts and secret paths, the Clarion reached Magellan system.
Out of nothing Liberty vessels appeared - from fighters to Battleships. They seemed to know about the plan. The Clarion, fighting alongside a Legion fleet didn't stand a chance to escape to Vespucci without being destroyed. Luckily the entire crew of the Clarion managed to get on board of a Legion battleship. They had to leave the LNS Clarion behind where it has been secured by the Liberty Navy.
Joining the Hellfire Legion
The Legion was already awaiting Netreba and his crew. The plan didn't work to get the Clarion, but they managed to get as many legionnaires as possible and Netreba to Vespucci. After many years, Netreba became a trusted member of the Legion and while time passed he has been promoted to Grand Admiral.
Temporary Lord Commander
Lord Commander Samuel Locklear is in coma for undefined time. Since Netreba was Grand Admiral at the time, he had to take over the post of Lord Commander until Locklear is able to retake it.
