OP claims cloak disrupters "aren't worth it" because they cost more than cloaks. That seems a silly argument. If you can stop people from cloaking, which you find so aggravating, then how is it not worth it? I'm sorry, did you have something better to do with your credits? If you think it's too expensive, then beg the debs to make it require less material to build. Or, just don't buy one, but you've also lost any credibility to complain about it.

Basicly this. You can get yourself a Cloaking device, CAU 8 and all those stuff worth billions of money but can't spend a lil for the Cloak Disruptor? Bollocks.

I would have understood complaining about the initial implementation of cloak disruptors but you can literally permadisrupt someone if you have good tactics and timing with it right now.

Yes, I have a lot better things to do with my credits. Point is, cloaking devices, despite being op, aren't common enough to justify buying one. And paying 200 mil for a thing that I'm gonna use on one snub (which I have about 60 of) doesn't justify the purchase. Basically, the chance that I run into a snub with a cloak on my snub with a cloak disruptor is way too low to be useful.

I love RPing my pirate. Talking with traders and random freelancers is all great. I'm not the asshole pirate however. The last thing on my mind is killing. However what really flips my s*** is when some dude comes along with the soul purpose to kill me. Not really interested in talking. I understand that to some degree. Sometimes I'm even in the middle of a friendly conversation with a trader and someone comes along, thinking I'm robbing him.

Inevitably, I have to fight. But you know what? I can't fight for s***. So what am I supposed to do? Just surrender and wait 4 hours before I can RP again?

Why am I saying all this?
Because here is what I do: I cloak and I go somewhere else. I don't resupply and re-engage and I don't act like an ass****.

While I completely understand your point, and I'm aware people use cloaks for "not good things", you've got to look at this from another side.

You know what I love about cloaks?
It means that I do not care how good you are in your snub or how many hours you spend in Connecticut learning to get blues. If I do not want you to get your fix by shooting me, I can avoid you regardless of how much I suck at fighting.

And no amount of chest thumping about how you should be able to kill me is going to fix that 8|

So in essence, you can not be bothered to buy a costly countermeasure for the rare cases when you encounter somebody with a costly cloak, yet you still expect to get your blue just as easily? I'd say it is your own choice to give up the chance to render the enemy cloak null and void. You have the option to counter it, and if you refuse to, then it should not come as a surprise that you are not going to always have your wholeheartedly desired blue.

I wonder. People were complaning about jumping and now jumps are limited. Then cloaks, so cloak distruptors are in game. Not you again complaning about cloaks?

What's so big deal if someone have cloak? You can distrupt it with heavy CD every moment. No need to have that cloakd CD onboard. Personally i like cloaks. Many times when i fly alone 2-4 ships stopping me and want to kill. All the time that happends, so yes i activate cloak and run for my life.

The problem is the cost of the cloak disruptors, 400 Million is a lot, I'll need to power-trade days and nights just so I can equip the cloak disruptors on 2-4 ships that I know I will encounter cloakers in, and even after that, cloakers are still somewhat Uncommon.

Also I'm losing my Countermeasure, afaik, a device which is useful for avoiding CDs and Missiles, not only I'm spending 400 million for rare occassions, i'm also handicapping myself.

My point is the price of the Cloak Disruptor is too high, maybe make seperate cloak disruptors, ones for caps and ones for snubs, the ones for caps will have a higher range of disruption, while the Snub one will be the current cloak disruptor.
And the Snub Cloak disruptor will cost less(obviously) compared to the Capital Disruptor.
This is just my opinion and suggestion.

Cruise disruptors are already a good counter against cloaks although they are not as efficient for longer fights in general and against snub cloaks. The CD is simple, cheap and good for general usage. If you want to be more specialised against cloakers, you can get a cloak disruptor at a much higher cost, but also with brutal efficiency against all kinds of cloaks.
This of course means that you have to spend some money yourselves and trade your missile countermeasure (primarily defensive use) with a cloak countermeasure (primarily offensive use), whichever you prefer.
The ability for loadouts to excel in any situation is in my opinion very boring, anyway.
