Possible OSC Liner

Hello everyone.

Since I'm part of the OSC , we've been talking a lot about how could OSC get a bit of refreshing in order to make it a bit more apealing to people. ( Yes, I know, it's not a PvP faction so that is most unlikely, but still.) The current Luxury Liner is a pain to fly unless you manually try to aim for a bullseye on each and every trade lane, and even then it's not sure that you'll get through, but I'm not making this for a discussion on that. That's for a different time, when a replacement comes up.

Right now, I'd like to ask the community, Devs and mostly @Drrobe on this matter.
I've been browsing the forums a lot and ran into this model, courtesy of @Jinx , I take absolutely no credit for it:



Jinx wrote it's suppose to be a Zoner liner , but meh ... why would Zoners need something like this when they have Juggernauts right ? Also, after discussing with @Jinx , I was told that this was suppose to be the early concept of @Drrobe s SRP ship, even though it turned out to be something totally different. ( See below )

So ,this brought me to the idea of introducing this liner concept as a 5k Deep Space Liner for OSC , even possibly change the model of the current stationary liners to this ( Shetland , Hawaii , Mackinac ) and used in the future as OSC "stations". The reason I was thinking of putting this in as a new , 5K liner instead of changing the current Luxury Liner to it is the possible difference between sizes. However, if Devs or the community can come up with a good solution, I'm open to suggestions.

But why would anyone care about this , you ask ? Well, for those who would like to play as OSC liner captains , it would be something new and appealing to fly with, plus, the current liners are ( or at least the whole concept ) is suppose to be around 50-60 years old ( the Hawaii , according to it's infocard is 31 years old ) so inRP they are suppose to become hard to maintain, plus with time passes and new technologies and things appeare, it's always difficult to fit something new into an old concept. So to change the old and out-of-date concept, it would make enough sense I think. Also, with the introduction of the Renzu Liner it could be said inRP that the new design was inspired by the success of the Renzu Corps made ship, but this one would be for an increased amount of people.


As I've said before, the model is not made by me, but @Jinx told me the model can be submitted any time, if the community accepts it and devs would be so kind to take a look at it and tell us or @Jinx if it is good enough or something needs to be changed.

The current one looks a bit like the ship from Fifth Element.

Yes, I also think that the Freelancer developers who created the original Luxury Liner have been inspired by the Fifth Element. It doesn't matter, they've done a great job with this ship design. The original Luxury Liner looks very sweet.

I fly the Kusari liner and I think there would be more in game if there was a refresh of current models, at the very least. The Renzu liner was a great addition and I think a 'spurs on new design' from other corporations is a good thought.

I was thinking more like a destroyer, but, agreed.

Criticism:

I think it is too sleek to be a liner. It has a certain lethal grace to it that speaks to speed and destruction that doesn't seem in keeping with its intended role.

It also looks very utilitarian, as if more attention is being paid to functionality than to impressing the customers.

When was the last time you flew one ? It get stuck in every single trade lane unless you fly it manually, and a huge load of luckl ... however ...

So, let me explain it again to those, who can't seem to read a text in english, even if there are a few typos cause I'm not a native english speaker:

1. This thread is not about any sort of replacement for the current Luxury Liner !! that will be a different story
   
2. As I've wrote above, we imagined it to be a 5K cargod Deep Space Liner ... where functionality comes before being impressive , plus when you have to room 5.000 passangers, it's not that much about Luxury. - Think of a huge passanger train, the outside is not everything, the inside ( and the difference between 1st and 2nd class is what matters imo.
   
3. That monstursity from 5th element is nothing devs would ever let into the game
