I tried with much enthusiasm to establish a RP for this, and it did pay off, until people started getting understandably antsy about it.
After a year and some RP I had, in character, acquired a Zoner carrier and named it Cygnus.
It was never to be used in offensive PVP
Never promoted forced defensive PVP combat
It was used as a Roleplay object to further the story I had built with Adam spire and his exploits
Was used as a Story line for an old rheinland commander from the GMG/rheinland war
Was used as a plot device for Adam to leave the core systems and later, currently return.
The ship does not enter core space unless some RP reason allows it.
Does not engage in pirate or "illegal" activities.
It had a Zoner ID
The question now as it was likely back then, why not just make it a psudo ship with no real physical ownership of a physical ship?
I like the story around the ship, it promotes a point of contention and story in game to have a physical ship. Sticking a thorn in the side of some was a point of the ship, but for in game reasons, nothing out of game. This is why I tried so hard to make this stick. There was no request for me to not have it, provided I followed rules, which I did.
I just wanted , as I did before, your understanding on the matter.
Sometimes, when all you want is to gain your freedom, you must be willing to risk it all.
Hello there,
I think I remember the name of this ship, but nothing more about it.
Nevertheless I would be happy to rp with you.
I'm a little busy at this moment but I will have time after August 6.
See you.
I suppose the usual line of concern would be the lack of ability to interact directly.
After all, given that you don't "exist", you can just declare outcomes as if you were writing in an exclusive universe. That is not problematic as long as your actions have no impact on the storyline; the question becomes, will you be content to not influence things with your writing?

I will try not to be cynical in my response but I have existed quite a lot 2-3 years ago here. In an extensive RP concerning Planet Nuremberg in Munich, Kruger, Rheinland, Planetform, the CR and Leeds, the Carrier was a bit more of a way point to connect them all. I hate to say this as well, but few things anyone did ever impacted the storyline an in fact it was a rather awkward sudden changing lore storyline that caused many to flip out and leave. But, that is another story and only part of a much larger issue. So in truth, my actions were just a part of the story with Rheinland at the center in an attempt to promote roleplay. The cynic in me will tell you, at this point, no amount of actions will influence anything in the near to foreseeable future here.
At the same time, I have no intentions to make the Cygnus into a bannable offence or take it into house space to show off or blow things up.
At the same token. I won't trod on anyone's story or game just to let mine shine. I'm at the mind set that the ship conforms to the story and not force it the other way around.
On a side note, being that the Zoner carrier has gone through, I think, three transformations to date, I will start by interacting with the Zoner traders, make someone a bit of credits and then reintroduce the Cygnus. Until then, its one thing at a time.

Good luck in your writing, and I would certainly be interested in corresponding if our paths should cross.
And no worries what so ever. The main drive of me making this thread is to quell and assist in any misunderstandings and even promote interaction. You're doing just fine.
