Factoid: (For ease of use, the Chrysanthemums often substitute the noun ‘Conquistador’ with ‘Conqueror’ when discussing retrofits of the ‘Conquistador’ line).

The Seifuku-sha is the Chrysanthemum Dream’s reincarnation of the Malta’s most fearsome product: the Conquistador line of space superiority interceptors. Circa the solidification of a viable technology exchange program between the Sisterhood of Dreams and the Crimson Cross, the Reipia has rapidly found utilisation across all theatres of Chrysanthemum operations. Deemed a viable replacement for the venerable yet archaic Bushido line, the Reipia, along with her nimbler, less expensive sisters, are starting to displace the innumerable wings of Tachis stationed on the Matsuda and her sister installations, especially in front line capacities where direct confrontation with the KNF is deemed highly probable. In all capacities, the imports have excelled, feeding into the prevailing wind of Chrysanthemum thought that the Sisterhood need not depend on the whims of the Blood Dragons for their hardware anymore. Only time will tell if the Orange faction can disperse the Matriarchy’s historical dependency on the self-styled Shogunate.

Currently, only models of the Rapier have been imported by the Chrysanthemum movement; the sisterhood taking the public attitude that if they can learn to maintain the most temperamental of the Nazione’s fighter designs, it will result in a net decrease of time lost spent in training their ground crews to adapt to each individual fighter’s specialisations. More privately, a frequent complaint levied against the Sisterhood is a perceived inability to coax Maltese power cores into harmonious operation with their Kusarian counterparts, with additional energy often extracted from the weapon’s grid to make up for the shortfall. Until this flaw can be washed clean, maltese retrofits are unlikely to form the prime bulk of the revolution’s strike wings; especially whilst the home-brewed Blossom heavy fighter and the Orchid bomber persist with great popularity amongst their creators.

List of aftermarket modifications to the factory Rapier:

Whilst visually identical to the to the conventional Rapier right down to the markings of the Nazione Maltese, underneath the skin, as much as 37% of the original fighter has been substituted by Kusarian retrofits. The most prominent substitutions include:the full replacement of all six drive units with Kishiro designed Impulsedyne TA-55 ‘Rakurai’ vectored interplanetary drives (of which counterfeit models are produced for the GC’s blossom interceptor), the addition of extra in-wing fuel cells, and the positioning of flight seat further forwards in the cockpit to accommodate the smaller Kusarian profile, along with a second seat for duel-use as a trainer. All of the above modifications are usually done by hand in Ainu or by GC cells on planet Miura - the fighters are considered too sensitive to hide in plain sight amongst the Kusarian Core Worlds.

Test Pilots:

Currently, the ‘Reipia’ development program resides under the leadership of Sisters Jun Kirishiki and Nishi Adeline Darche, experienced sisters who also serve as the fighters' primary test pilots. Both Nishi and Jun have been observed flying test articles in combat missions occasionally, and both view the Reipia as a favourable addition to the Chrysanthemum Dawn. Most notably, both Nishi and Jun were present flying the Reipia at the First Battle of Nagano.
