Premium Scrap is usually mined in Texas, in small subfields of the Pequena Negra and the Grande Negra (the dark matter scrap clouds).
There are somewhat worse fields around the broken jump gates in Hudson and Bering, and a much worse field in New London, a subfield of the Southampton Debris field.
Junkers can mine it in the CSF or Salvager, and ALG can mine it in a Ragnar or Behemoth.
Technically DSE can also mine it, but we don't talk about that.
the "Miner ID" has a medium buff , too, but if you want to scrap, do it with Junkers or ALG
Junker ID ships :
CSF ( freighter class ) / Allentown , Pensylvania
Good for fast and agile scrapping duty, both as solo miner and in a team.
Drawback : low cargo load. Take the bering gate and scrap at the defunct gate to Hamburg with that ship. The fast path from the Haven to the gate and back makes up for your lower cargo load, and its fun shooting Xenos or others while scrapping.
Wrecker ( GB class) / Puerto Rico shipjard
medium range cargo load, and still quite affordable. Good for teamwork and fire support at a claim. C3 or C6 are the mining fields in Texas.
Salvager ( well: the Sally is its own class, really ) / Puerto Rico shipjard
Good cargo load, good defensive capability, excellent scrapper. The ship is basically a heavily armoured and plated mobile scrap rig. Good solo and teamwork capability, but expensive. And... one of the most hated ships in Disco.
Im no expert on the ALG ships.
Start with a CSF, you can get that ship outfitted for about 5 mil creds. Get docking acces at the Haven or sell to a trader or Beaumont Spire in its buying cycle, then decide if you want to team up or buy a Sally. Works fine.
pS.: dont forget to do screenpics of your load if you want to join in Tinkers scrapping contest. You get extra pay for scrapping more than 3 loads.
