1. Go to your History.
2. Find the link to the thread.
3. Copy-Paste thread to Google Search.
4. The link that pops up will have in green text the web link and a green arrow pointing down next to it. Click that arrow and select "Cached"
5. Save whatever you can find!!

This hopefully eases the pain a bit especially for those who had extensive stories going on.

Is there a way to retrieve the code? or just the looks?

Just the plain text, no code. You'll have to relink all externals

Image example on how to access the cached version if you have problems with the instructions. (Note that some labels are likely different due to differences in language). Entering keywords that are contained in the thread name or contents can point you to the page as well. Some pages also have snapshots from different dates. Read the top bar on the cached pages to see what date your cache is from. One way to deal with this issue is trying to copy/paste different parts of the page into your search bar and find the most recent snapshot that way. Worked for me twice now.

Be aware the date of the cached page as it does not retroactively store all pages. you can check the date of the page by looking at the top right corner of the website page.

also be aware that there are other cache sites such as

*will edit in cus cant paste on phone*

additionally there is another alternative to restoring content. if you use Google Chrome as your default browser you can restore pages by looking through your cache files, this process might be better than relying on cache websites online as they are not updated

*will edit link*

Major Kudos to Alley, the mysterious Kitty and all the staff admin staff for getting this thing back into gear, I know how excruciating it is when you want something sorted and the people supposed to be sorting it take an age despite the nagging. Kudos again folks! great effort!
