Eaasy man. Imo what happens iRP should stay iRP and beside that one shouldnt have friends when they do RP. Take it easy, and as for the OORP bit change your behavior accordingly to the person/environment you may encounter along the way. For the rest of it worry not. People will be trolls some not, who cares, the secret is to remain calm, as laid abck as almost horizontally. If something can be solved, then perhaps it will be solved.

I dunno'. Usually people are the way they are for a reason, or they don't understand what they are doing.
That's certainly convenient if nobody wants to be held accountable for their words or actions, but that excuse only gets you so far. If you're smart enough to be on a computer and play a multiplayer mod, at some point you've probably had enough social interaction to know when you are being a prick (and I'm not directing that at you personally, Dunc, but at everybody).
Treat other people the way YOU want to be treated by others, if not better.

It's amazing how much drama a community this small can produce, honestly. And if you try to care about said drama (say, if you're a faction leader and people are accusing you and/or your faction of the craziest things) you tend to go absolute batpoo insane. So the obvious solution is to simply care as little as you possibly can and try to enjoy the game that way.
Admittedly though, people in this community do have a tendency to go out of their way to cause others grief.

I'm actually pretty interested what Freud would say about this community.
There's a lot of heavily-inflated baboon asses around in this community. Let them wave their testicles around in your face for as long as you need to get that stick so you could poke the living daylights out of their unmentionables with unmatched grace and talent.
- Seriously though - not everyone inside this community doesn't exactly like you/hates you with a bloody passion. As you mentioned in the OP, you have a few people who you get along with really well. Stick to them and ignore the buttmonkeys.
Everything works it's way out of the ugly sock-sandals eventually. It just needs a bit of time. Stick around, man.
You have to take the good with the bad, smile when you are sad, love what you have got and remember what you had. Always forgive but never forget, learn from your mistakes but never regret, people change, things go wrong. Just remember life goes on.
