What if I told you that in some time periods in past gates had almost harmless weapons and pirates were camping them every day...and yet, obviously the game was not destroyed because we are still playing it...

On a ragebreak. Or ragequit. Time will tell.

In-fact the defenses are good for the traders, civilians and other lawful pilots who get pirated and sometimes go closer to nearest defenses for shelter
It's the pirate/unlawful problem to pick the right place for camping and waiting victims, but it's not the gate fault !!!!
Please consider increasing the firepower of gates and base defenses, as it should be this way.
Also please don't remove the npc's !! how can this be useful to the game? I'm sure you are wise and have a good scheme
so again please don't remove the pulses, npcs etc.. , the game is awesome with them.

Sure, if you're a trader who doesn't care for unlawful interactions it's really fun. And to have your precious trading impacted by a change that favours pirates would be detrimental to your experience, wouldn't it? Fortunately, the mod doesn't cater to power traders.

the gates having no weapons would actually be beneficial to power traders in most cases anyway.

As someone who predominantly plays corporate characters I'd support the OP. We should all be striving to create the best possible overall game environment and not just selfishly clinging to detrimental mechanics that are personally advantageous.

For a long time I have flown as a pirate and I got used to the guns and things shooting at me.
Leave it as it is. Please.

I kinda miss the guns on tradelanes too.

I cant really say that i agree. It just makes sense for stations to do damage, if fighters just fly past them what is to stop bombers from attacking them, it makes sense inRP.
Also i think POB's just get a bit better weaponry, when they took over a min to kill my stationary fighter.

Maybe take away the weapons of the Gates like for the lanes since they are just infrastructure.

And for stations, maybe make small stations weak again? Like no pulses on these Border stations. But Heavy Stations and Planets should keep their armaments, maybe improve it even. I always found it odd that I couldn't stay in range of Manhattan with a cap without getting overpowered.

Lane Weapons were removed. Though i would say Jump Gate weapons are needed. It just makes sense.
