I don't know if you're ignoring 80% of what people are writing in this thread or you think it's not an issue.
In my case, I was in a KPT fighter. A fighter, not a silent trader.
Around 4-5 other people.
In orbit of a dockable, habitated planet. In the middle of RP.
The next thing I know, while I'm writing I hear a large PEW and my ship explodes - game over, respawn.
This is okay, yes?
This is not contributing to anything harmful to the community, yes?
It's perfectly okay that I got randomly removed from the game for no apparent reason, and my fun completely ruined, yes?
Do you enjoy playing games where, at any point, you can have the antagonist spawn behind you and murder you without a chance to resist, forcing you to restart from the checkpoint and losing progress for no reason whatsoever? I don't think Discovery should be such a game, but it seems that the ones getting satisfaction out of killing others (to the same effect as just writing a /kill command) and causing s.a.l.t. disagree.

Yes, I only replied to this post so it's in this thread twice.
Please read.
Don't skim through.
It's not that long of a post. >:

80% of all scientists say that at least 120% of women like scientists, it has numbers so it must be true, right? Please dont do that when you cant back it up.
Now to the issue adressed, I can understand that you are not happy with this behaviour, but Im fairly certain that this was an exception. They shouldnt have killed you in the middle of RP, but as said, this is something thats not the standard, Ill talk with Huggie about it.
Considering certain people have already stated they'll abuse this as much as they can while it's still possible you're the one who needs to back it up.
Not like the posts made by the involved nabs here back anything up other than their support to this though.

One. It is unacceptable to abuse exception from the standard engagement rules and should be reason for a sanction, followed by expelling such a player from the faction.

It's not related to roleplay much, it's more of a matter of K'Hara frequently making someone get a GAME OVER screen out of the blue without anything preceding it.

The sound range is 3k, I believe, and it takes the fastest nomad ship ~8 seconds to reach you in cruise and even then, the powercore is fully drained and has to recharge for an "instakill". In impulse, you have even more time to notice the sound. This nets you at least 12 seconds to realize something is cloaked around you before it can even bother to attack you. In my experience, this is more than enough time to prepare for an imminent attack.
So you disagree that there's enough warning and countermeasures against our specific tech and ability.
Your strawman example is fallacious the reality is you died once. in the middle end or beginning of your rp? is inconsequential. You died once and for all your "why aren't people listening to me" you seem to have a continued vendetta of not listening to other developer or admin posts in this thread.
maybe the same deafness is relevant to you not hearing the cloak proximity warnings.
We don't track down anyone and kill them more than once. we abide by server rules. We have the ID powers we do for a reason.
If being killed unexpectedly forces you to pay attention and be aware of all those bells and whistled the devs bothered to balance and put in for cloaks? Forces you to change?
If you read nothing or .... rather don't get anything else Then READ THIS.
Pm all your ships. To the mindshare account and you wont have to worry about us ever.. again.
@HuggieSunrise Looks like someone did not understand what are we trying to point out. It's not about Nomads being hostile to people. It's about certain K'hara players that are instakilling other people, without giving them a fair chance to even make the smallest dodge - especially it is gunboat against anything that can be instakilled by it. Note, it doesn't come from one Discovery member, but from quite a few of them.
Read my post above yours and think about it.

And this. That's not the answer I expected from the official faction leader. It sounds impolite... Hell, I would even say. insulting. It sounds like "ugh, these idiots dare to bother me and my faction!" I mean no offense, but that's how it looks like.

There is no excuse for usage of that ID to abuse rule 3.1.

What if someone is listening to the music? What if people have everything turned off, because child/younger brother/family is sleeping? What is some people are actually deaf? Had I been the K'hara leader, I wouldn't blame the players that are annoyed by abusing the rule exception, but rather rethink if some of my K'hara players really deserve to be in my faction.

Telling me what I dont understand thats nice. How about you prove my points incorrect or my perceptions incorrect? Try that. because What i understand is some people got caught by SUPRISE and hated it so much they decided to make their feeling known here.
despite being proven completely incorrect that we couldn't have insta killed anything without any sort of warning what so ever by a dev or people with headphones and speakers on their pc.

the list is actually so we can get all your ships so we can shoot them. what im evil. ims orry you have a problem with that.
lol i lied again.

Rule 1.3

Listening to music.. turning everything off and being deaf does not excuse that there is a playerlist that tells you where ships are and what system they are in. Even that is forewarning and in the game of life it's way more then you would get in any other pvp viable game.
Second. Demonising me with another strawman argument that cloaks aren't balanced for deaf people is like some sorta manipulative personal attack. So how much does that make me give a damn..?
on deaf people playing disco. I would support deaf or visual stimulus to be added to the cloak proximity.. not sure how to accomplish this. maybe a missile lock flash? if that's doable?
Everyone who has an id deserve the id if they use it.
Do you know what we do? when we kill a guy? A mass of other people log in to hunt us down. and most of the time it works out that we die.
Your pointing out and crying the effin blues about being murdered.. But think of the response team that comes on when house space is being invaded. the response that the other traders and ships getting escorts have on the server population.
Think of how it would be.. if we did things a little differently.. gave engagement notice. from here on out. do you think this thread would exist?
Maybe not.. this thread.
but just put nomads in the search bar. you'll see many like this one.. many about how annoying we are our rp.. our balancing.
this is. probably one of the easiest threads i've seen. because people keep harping on the issue that isn't important the issue you will never get sympathy about.
the issue about how you died was unfair.
This is not a reason for a thread on disco but there's too many.
Too many. Khara have been around as khara since 2012. The keepers before that were far more brutal then now.
So if you have a valid issue.. something that brings up unfairness outside of your personal losses youll be doing us all a favor.
