I want to enrich my knowledge by calling to your experience regarding what Nomads are able to do, and what I am not aware of yet.

Generally I would like to have the input on their communication abilities, but go ahead with whatever else you have encountered / played yourself. The more the better.
Also, when posting your message don't forget to mention what kind of Nomad was it, how mature was it, etc.

Feel free to post your experimental Nomad RP as well, because I am in search of new and interesting now.



tl/dr: iRP abilities, do not post if you are about to bring up cloacked silent assasinations.

There are different Casts of nomads , Read Nomad Lore , the pdf , It's really interesting , their abilities differ with their cast

I have read it numerous times, please carefully read the OP, it says "calling to your experience", "enrich my knowledge" and "RP experiments".
Conrad once told me that the lore is to give an idea, but not to determine the RP, everything is still up to a player.

When i was a wee lad junker in 08 I had a keeper sing to me. i forgot who it was but it made me less scared of nomads.

Then there was a Marduk that communicated to a "researcher" in an old juggernaut in .85 like normal. but in a quasi vision. I figured it was cause they knew each other. The Marduk did not associate that way with me more or less ignored me but. well it was a Marduk what do you expect lol..

nomads have off and on encountered my AI and have recognized it. emitting lights or mists. visual phenomena.

As for new lore? the larger the nomad the bigger the mind which means the more weird it sounds.. because their mind are so large (multi dimensional) and it would be like screaming into a baby rabbits ear with a sub woofer. So they have to.. shrink their signal to not hurt you.

Smaller ships can mimic humans speech and feelings easier cause ..well size matters now.

Oh and just last week ace did a nice r with remains harvesters that used images int he nebula like shapes and faces. like cloud watching was nice.

Well.
There were a couple interesting coming ups related to nomad communication abilities. Even somehow retconned due to lore changes of the AI, but something I remind well was an interesting "contact" between Nomads-AI once. Facing the fact that nomads (propably) are able to infect technology itself they aren't able to insert their frames into an artificial mechanic mainframe by telepathy. The solution of it was an indirect communication by using drugged (liquid cardamine) humans as a communication host. The AI filled their bodies with nanotech to strenghen their resistance to the deadly cardamine and to transload the frames and insert information to the host.
Even the RP was retconned it contains the abilities of nomads and shows ways to increase "theirs" receiving.

Nomad's propulsion system generates radiation. I thought that depending on how fast and strong my Morph will "squeeze" its reactor chambers and nozzles, it will look like radio sequence.
The radio noise must be filtered by the receiving devices as a background noise.
That is why I think a Nomad vessel carrying something metallic that might resonate the sequence generated by its reactor (is this even necessary?) could communicate over the radio.. Besides, radio signal could be digital. Then, I suppose, it might be possible to copy the sequence that wad heared by a nomad before (if it is impossible to understand it)..

Regarding the AI thing, I think it would be easier to use human middleman with who a Nomad can communicate. The human can then just communicate with the AI.

About abilities, Irra can mindrape whole fleet and force it to attack allied vessel... For example Order fleet to destroy Togo. (bandit) But such things are better if ooRPly agreed on before the mindrape.
