Okay so I want to find the most economical armour upgrade for my Zoner Fearless and Kusari Explorer Gunboat setup. I'd probably try not to get into PVP situations but if I have to I want to make sure that my hull is as thick as theirs.

So what's the most commonly used armour for gunboats and cruisers? I looked up the wiki but I understand it's outdated so I'm not sure on the prices either. My budget is ~50 million but I'm willing to spend a little more if the next upgrade in line isn't so ridiculously overpriced.

Cap IV is the lowest you see people with. 6 for GBs and 7 for cruisers is fairly standard/common.

VIII aren't uncommon amongst lower class capitols. Hell i've seen small freighters packing a Cap VIII on more than one occasion.

Best value for credits = cap IV. That will get you 2 (2.1?) times your 'stock' armor.

If you can afford to buy better, go for it, but take note that the increase in armor after cap IV is small, compared to the increase in price.

The wiki is up-to-date. Out-dated content is marked as such quite clearly. Those armor prices look accurate to me.

That said, if you do see something on the wiki that is out-dated, we would appreciate notification. Even if you merely suspect that something might be out-of-date, you can bring it up in the Discovery Wiki forum (index.php?showforum=92)

Well, as every faction capitol seems to be mounting them these days, your never really taken seriousley without a VIII sadly. Unless you give relentless activity and are an excellent Capitol coordinator, then sadly your likely to get outdone in the armor category.

I checked the armor section as soon as the latest update came out, and can say 100% that it is fully updated for 4.85.0.

For future reference, we're starting to add categories at the bottom of the page that say which version number the data refers to. In this case, you can see "Category: V4850", which tells you that the page is updated as of this latest mod. There are many pages still with V485, which are nearly recent but may be slightly different. Anything without a Vxxx category has not been verified, but is on the todo list. There are a lot of articles to go through.

Capital VII is the best for the money, Capital VI is acceptable.
You should save your money if considering anything lower.
Go with a Universal VIII upgrade until you can afford a Capital VI or VII.
