the BHG in gamma/alpha are vanilla, - thats not a reason to leave them there, - BUT. if we take rumors as laws for RP and reasons to justify RP, which we do. - then the BHG can be there, no doubt. rumors on FP9 tell about the jumphole, zoners sell the information - even to freelancers, who do not hire the station as an outpost. - zoners know about the jumphole, so do the BHG who inhabit the place.
as said before. - if the BHG are not to be in gamma, they can be removed from theta, - meaning they can be removed entirely from the outer systems and remain defending the bordersystems - only that they cannot, cause the playerfactions do not want the BHG to activly defend.
the whole story of the core would be messed up ( the npc core ). if the BHG doesn t know about gamma, they don t know about delta, then they have no path to minor and no contact to the order. - one part affects the other. - of course, one can make up a story about why the BHG can be in delta and not in gamma, but that would be far fetched.
its more likely to have BHGs in gamma than having BHGs fly through Tohoku to get to delta ( across a corrupted KNF system ruled by a taisho lord and an unmappable system dense with asteroids? )
not logical, but maybe you can tell me how they got to delta without gamma - how they warfare with the order etc.
and if thats all not wanted - what does the BHG do, - maintain a huge battlefleet ( no not the players... i mean the REAL bhgs, the ones that scan, police and fly countless destroyers and numerous VHFs ) by doing a few little headhunts every now and then.... . - the BHGs RP is messed up due to the dislike of the lawful playerfactions allready - if you remove them from their relative "free reign" in the borderworlds... there is nothing left. they are called bounty hunters, but they are more mercenaries / independent military from what the NPCs show - we know it, we don t like it.
Thank you for that information on the BHG rumours, Robert. I retract my objections to BHG in Gamma and Alpha, but since it's hardly likely that Liberty (which doesn't even let it's own low-mid ranking men into there) would permit the BHG in Alaska, and the BHG wouldn't want to anger Liberty, I maintain my objections to BHG in Alaska.
we can agree that they don t come through the alaska gate - but they come there from minor for sure, since the BHG has the same contract with the zoners in delta. so freeport 11 is a BHG base.
so, BHG in alaska is fine - as long as they don t use the ny / alaska gate.
Hmm.. I suppose you could rationalize they are unknown of by the Navy due to largely operating in Order-dominated areas of Alaska, since Liberty would annihilate them if they came in unauthorized.
thats politics. - if the gate is sealed , but the BHG show up in alaska, - would the navy shoot them down? - the core army of the BHG. - or would there be an agreement or at least a truce. - if the navy shot down the BHG in alaska openly ( and the BHG is at open war with the order cause they have the same interests allready ) - would the BHG consider liberty hostile then? - how are the chances.
if that was the case, how will it affect liberty if BHGs would turn hostile suddenly - it wouldn t look any good, from a pvp and a RP perspective. it would become a big mess. - i can think of a truce there. - the BHG will not let the navy shoot down their most valuable members ( core ) and maintain a smile all outside of alaska.
the consequence of trespassing is more likely an agreement. the very least thing is both opening fire on each other.
For Liberty, Alaska would be a non-negotiable, absolute thing. They have the resources to destroy the Bounty Hunters Guild, which is a powerful mercenary organisation. Therefore, they probably don't know the BHG are in Alaska, or the BHG aren't in Alaska.
It's definitely the responsibility of the LSF and/or Navy to patrol Z21. If they're not willing to put in time to do it, then the only good suggestion I've seen is a Navy Guard BS at the Omicron Minor hole in Alaska.
I think people are missing something here: People will defy authority because they can and because of the 'thrill' factor involved.
Also to the grumbling Liberty forces: If you were assigned as security guards to protect a priceless object, but didn't have enough personnel to guard it 24/7 and so left it unguarded at times, only to return to find it stolen, who exactly gets blamed? You do. Basically, you're complaining that law breakers shouldn't be able to do what they do best because you don't have enough people to guard the gate at all times. Sorry, but things don't work like that.
Show a little bit of maturity, stop complaining about and demanding fixes for things that are your own fault, correct it by recruiting more people for the job and play the game.
i think patrolling is funny. - in delta i hook up with a NPC patrol of zoner eagles. - they fly around the whole zoner space - i am moving around, and i m chatting happily while i m patrolling, never gets boring. - as a navy officer, i could easily sit in my dreadnaught at zone 21 and simply watch the chat.
you think its boring? - i think its perfect entertainment. and if a culprit escapes the dreadnaught . tough luck, errr.. bring some fighters?- or how about hiring BHGs to protect zone - 21 outside, or does the navy not trust the BHG.
