' Wrote:i think patrolling is funny. - in delta i hook up with a NPC patrol of zoner eagles. - they fly around the whole zoner space - i am moving around, and i m chatting happily while i m patrolling, never gets boring. - as a navy officer, i could easily sit in my dreadnaught at zone 21 and simply watch the chat.
you think its boring? - i think its perfect entertainment. and if a culprit escapes the dreadnaught . tough luck, errr.. bring some fighters?- or how about hiring BHGs to protect zone - 21 outside, or does the navy not trust the BHG.
On this note, does anyone actually know how BH NPC's interact with Navy NPC's in Alaska? I haven't seen them shoot each other but I could be wrong.
I get keeping unauthorized ships out of Zone-21, but what about ships already inside Zone-21 (as in entering NY from Alaska)? As a new SA recruit, I'm not supposed to know about Alaska so it kinda annoys me when a ship emerges from that which I RP as knowing nothing about just because.
Anyway, I'm gonna make it a habit to guard Zone-21 when I'm on. One VHF is better than nothing...
BHGs and Navy have the same relationship like anywhere else.... silly BHGs demand navy pilots and get shot, - but other than that, they assist each other against the common foes like nomads and order. - the nomads just pick a target, they don t care if its navy, bhg or order. - the order likes to shoot the bhg more than the nomads ( when the bhg is a player ) - but thats just coding cause the npcs don t have a priority target list.
the navy is very passive in alaska. - they hardly ever scan others.
on that note, - guarding zone - 21 should be one of the undoubtful reasons to have a dreadnaught. - a VHF is nice and all, but a dreadnaught just does better - one that does nothing else but stand guard. - if someone manages to cruise away from there.... - well, he is retreating and has to leave the system for good:laugh:.
And like I said, guarding it is what the PLAYERS should be doing, yet I got kicked out of zone 21 and almost destroyed for trying to do that job when the SA player faction wouldnt.

The navy scans in Minor, if any NPC patrol survives long enough against Nomads and The Order.
I've gotten past a dreadnought and a cruiser stationed in Z21, but when there were 2-3 VHF's they managed to destroy me.
I'm not here to say Liberty shouldn't defend Zone-21. Fully agree with it.
However, I talked to a friend last night who I was helping with her new char, and it seems LSF and peeps want to keep everyone out of Alaska.. Including those who are trying to get the LSF ID. The LSF, in their own words, consider "it [LSF ID] is restricted." when questioned by a person wishing to become an independant LSF character.. I'm sorry, but isn't this Freelancer? I don't see the Zoner Council dictating who is and is not allowed the Zoner ID... LSF has no right to keep people out of Alaska so they can't get the ID..
And she also sent me a screenshot.. That of Walker saying if someone manages to go in and get it without getting caught, LSF will come up with an RP that makes them get rid of that ID for being OORP. Again, I'm sorry, but is it OORP for an LSF agent to use an LSF ID?
Is it within rules for a player faction to dictate what individual players can and cannot use?
Does TBH stop people from using the Corsair ID unless they are in one of the Corair factions? Does 101st stop people from using the Outcast ID unless they are in one of the Outcast factions?
This is beyond a gross abuse of the authority to guard Alaska. Its all fine and good in-RP, but when you deliberately prevent people from buying their ID, that should be a sanctionable offense in my opinion..
I don't know about SA or LPI on this issue, but LSF-PC surely thinks that the ID should be restricted to their sole use.
Since when have i restricted the LSF ID? And ignore walker, hes digging himself a hole as of now. Second time i heard something bad.
I could care less if someone wants to become a indie LSF, I don't "dictate" what people can and can't use, If you have a problem with my members or my faction, say something to me via PM, Or is that what everyone does, just go right to the posting.
"LSF-PC surely thinks that the ID should be restricted to their sole use."
Really? show me proof that i think that? AS i said, i don't mind indie LSF. *sigh*
Oh heres a question. Since the Order are "Good" guys of the Borderworlds. should I get kicked out(asked to leave by liberty force) if I try to restrict people from going into NY via Alaska? Cause the liberty forces cant guard our end. They'll get shot.
Last time I tried to enforce the no one in that zone thats not allowed rule. The Liberty Guy said.
"We dont need you helping us we can handle nomads without you."
(Something allong those lines)
At which point even though he was no where in scanner range I was hoping some 4 fleets of nomad battleships attacked him....
Saying "we" can defend against the nomads. I doubt that!
"Is it within rules for a player faction to dictate what individual players can and cannot use?" - it is - look at the capital ship restrictions made by players. - so whats the difference from an ID to a shiptype. - its wrong, but there you are.
Just gonna add my thoughts here. I am going to go with Jinx on this one. Two NPC dreads would be awesome, however we don't dictate the server. Clearly, it's an issue and it is important for everyone's enjoyment that some form of understanding can be achieved. There are plenty of "loopholes" one can loose themselves in if one wishes, but again... consistancy is paramount in a RP environment. If nothing else, to allow everyone the same benefits. There are going to be those who disregard this notion of fair "RP" but you'll find that anywhere. Like Jinx, I think a player enforced sanction is in order.
