Today I won thanks to my forward gun. Yesterday I lost due to the enemy's. I don't think that I am biased. I am butthurt, but not because I was killed. I used my FG to kill stuff as well, and I didn't feel good, or at least fair.

I think it is clear that forward guns are bugged. They are a nice concept, but faulty as well. As we all know, faulty features downgrade the mod quality.

I am not suggesting their removal, but simply a replacement with something else until they are fixed. For example, rework them into missiles that don't turn, similar to the Hellfire guns or flaks (credits to Snoopy). Or make them guided cap torpedoes. I don't know, you name it. Just something that is not bugged.


PS: So apparently it isn't clear what the FG bug is.

Replace the FGs mortar shell with a missile that do not turn and has the exact same as FG. That could fix the issue that FGs have at the moment.

No. Forward guns are in part a skill gun to use. Especially on the bhg GB.
Just because you are a good player and got killed by it and won with it doesn't mean everyone shares the same in that regard.
How are they bugged? How are they bad? What is wrong with you just not going in front of the ship?
Why are you asking for missiles that remove the skill aspect of the gun and replace it with something useless?

What issues do Forward Guns have? Never heard or experienced it.

The issue with the forward gun at its current state is that due to FL not supporting large ships and a bit of lag etc the FG animation flies so far off into the distance and it's almost impossible to guess where it's going to land as the projectile lands no where near you. Meanwhile, on your screen the projectile flies in a straight line towards your target and hits them, causing damage whilst on the opponents screen it's no where near them and still damages them.

This applies more so to Battleships like the Valor and Hessian BS.

Issue stems from the way the game handles info coming from clients, like if it hits and takes damage at you, server accepts it and tells other client it indeed hit and took damage, or something like that. Same goes for all other mortars/trebs and basically anything where it grows significant. Should we replace all of them too?

Do they have less range? More speed? What's the difference (besides the issue allegedly occuring less frequently)?

It's because it's a fixed gun on a large ships as opposed to moveable turrets and snub guns.

Being unturnable (not immobile) only makes the issue a bit more significant compared to turrets, but it'll still be a game mechanic issue, there is no fault in the concept of forward guns. If however this is already enough reason for you to want their replacement, oh well, let me just disagree, I voted no anyways. We have enough turrets anyways and replacing the forward guns with another static dumbfire thing won't solve your problem.
