And again, you're doing nothing but flaming the SA/LSF. Really now.. it's not going anywhere.
Dusty and Praetyre's last posts pretty much summed up the SA/LSF's authority within Liberty. There's not much need to go further. In fact:
Praetyre Wrote:If you would like to petition the administrators, as I have suggested before, to prohibit the creation or use of unilateral faction names, then go ahead.
Reread that a couple times.
Really now, half your posts I see go in one eye and out the other, because they're all "This is what the SA/LSF were doing, and this is what I was doing, and I'm better, but they still gave me crap" or around those lines.
EDIT: Praetyre's "last post" is the one with the quote above.
' Wrote:Please provide me evidence of the 'pre-established rules' you are appealing to.
pre-established laws (of the liberty government) - which I would think are self explanitory:
-No Pirating
-No attacking lawfuls or nuetrals
-No smuggling of contraband goods
-Nobody but LSF/Navy in zone 21 or beyond.
That's what I was enforcing as an independent LSF - the same laws anyone in the SA and =LSF= Enforce, yet because I'm independent they saw fit to attack me as if I was any common pirate in liberty space.
That's what it all boils down to - the SA and LSF have gotten so much power that they cant handle the thought of an independent LSF/Navy/Police player doing any of the work (that they never do themselves) for them.
Before this thread gets bogged down in page after page of babble talk, historical citations and the dredging of rumors I would like to take this time to offer the participants some cabbage pie.

Yum!
I think I just threw up a little...
But I will have some of these tasty donuts stolen from LPI headquarters!
Unfortunately, Tenacity, you are a rare, rare, rare, example.
But explain to me what is wrong with simply having a player post this message in the RP forums?

//OOC: I understand the implications of being an independent, so I am requesting permission to get a LSF ID from Alaska. Since you probably will not just let any random person through without prior knowledge, I have posted this, and PMed several of your leaders, or the people I perceived to be your leaders. I hope this goes through okay. I really want a chance to RP as an LSF, and I'm pretty darn decent at this RP stuff too.
The above is a perfect example of something that can and most likely will allow you to pass through unhindered, provided that someone sees it. The thing is, the SA and LSF have no right to restrict people from RPing as members of those factions independently, but they do have a right to restrict people from Zone 21. Frankly, how the hell are they going to know who you are if you don't have any onForum history/background at all?
If the SA/LSF still restrict you from entering Zone 21 or anything similar to it without good reason, then there is a problem.

So basically we're stuck in a situation that neither side can get out of.
The player factions think independents are below them, and the independents think the player factions are taking too much power over them and others in the game. It's practically an unspoken war going on right now between the two because nobody can get along.
The independents wont settle for putting up with the faction BS by joining, and the factions wont settle for independents wanting equality.
Sounds to me like one side or the other needs to give, and neither is going to.

Err... it seems you haven't really internalized the last few posts.
LSF is still cleaning up its act. They're working on it, don't worry about it. SA is too, but not as heavily.
Okay, you DO NOT like factions. I get that. A few notable forum members (points at Jinx) remain unfactionalized to this day. However, you have to recognize that if a military officer of one rank gives an order to a military officer of a lower rank, the lower rank guy had better do it. If he doesn't, that entails a court martial for explanation, often ending in severe punishment or flat out expulsion.
Think about what that means: First off, an independent starting off should be taking orders from whoever is in charge; usually, the player faction, as they are the usually the only people who actually RP as Admirals and whatnot. The 106th and 522nd are beautiful examples that this isn't always so, but you get the idea. Now, aforementioned Admirals (and Generals, in Isabelle Kaitlynn's case) have worked VERY hard to acquire their positions. They have stellar RP both ingame and on forums, and really show what the word means. This extends to their SICs, on down through most of the ranks, with requirements getting lower and lower, but still high.
What happens when an independent comes along in a battleship is this: in order to have a battleship of a given navy and be part of that navy, you must be an Admiral of that navy. If we look at the first thing I brought up, any order that guy gives HAS to be followed, unless a higher ranked individual belays it. See where problems come up? If someone trades for a solid month, buys a Navy ID and Liberty Dreadnought, then starts ordering people around without establishing themselves first, there is a BIG PROBLEM. The existing (and usually factionalized) military has two choices: play along and justifiably hate it, or claim that the individual is an impersonator. This problem is avoided when the independent actually establishes themselves both ingame and on forums, but that rarely happens.
Do you understand?
With LSF, it gets worse: in the full realm of things, anyone with an LSF ID has command over everyone else in Liberty with a rank lower than Admiral/General. Which is a lot. And the chief of the LSF has authority over them, too, and is responsible only to the President. When someone grabs an LSF ID, if they don't have great RP, there are BIG PROBLEMS. We see this with a few of the official ones, but I'm sure that's getting ironed out.
Tenacity, even if you RP as LSF- You still need clearance from The Director and one of Liberties two Fleet Admirals to go to Z21/Alaska. And thats the final word.
As for the new Indie Cap thing; Most of them don't RP at all. So in order to police them since we have so many and people are calling for it we are making the 522nd to be a Battlegroup specifically to keep the Indies in line.
And Marauder Squadron for the Indie-Fighters.
I myself have seen Indie's try to take Pirate Pilots and etc as Contraband...
Also Tenacity; If the Indies had been able to infact have "Equality" look at what would happen. Anyone who slaps on an LPI/LSF/SA Tag could fly whatever they want, and would not be able to be demoted or punished by the real LPI/LSF/SA Unless an Administrator saw fit to do so.
Moreso Tenacity; Show me who else feels that "The Factions have to much power" otherwise. Stop flaming.
However there still lays the fact of "Impersonation of..." despite being a LPI/LSF/SA you are not so you cannot ACTUALLY be one of them and specifically state that you are official LPI or similar.
As for Indie's being below us, In a sense they are below us in some ways, Yet in other ways they are higher then us due to being Indie.
And let me make myself perfectly clear Tenacity; Just because your in the [SA] or =LSF= or have the RP to demand it. You must get clearance before going to Alaska by the Director and One of the Fleet Admirals.
