Do we really need to come back to this thread again?

Here's a neat situation. I am filming the first part of our 2016 Letsplay for Disco. Good progress so far, 10 minutes into the video itself. I undock and start talking about interacting with people within the roleplay enviroment, about difference between oorp and IC and how oorp should never be used unless needed - and you come along. And then proceed to follow me, constantly going // in local.

I had to stop the footage because you started doing that just as I was talking about how it was one of the biggest rookie mistakes anyone can do - interacting with others in an oorp manner.

I highly suggest you show the player that it is a roleplay server by actually roleplaying with them, not spamming their chat screen with three lines of preset messages about restarts. They have no idea what you just spammed to them anyway. Interact with them from an IRP perspective as a player - leave oorp help to the Angels.

If you want to help new players, at least give the proper impression. They will do exactly as you do and if you end up constantly going oorp in local, they will assume that the interaction is a mix of oorp and IRP chat posts.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Good luck with all those rule brakers you (and me) already suffered.... and I hope, real roleplayers unlawfuls understand how we can feel after suffering the abuse FROM REALLY LONG TIME AGO.

JohnyWalker, a player being a pirate does not imply that they are a rulebreaker. There are rulebreakers who are pirates and rulebreakers who aren't pirates, but pirates are well within their rights to exercise their ID's privileges on Pennsylvania noobs so long as the miners over level 30. You should allow pirate interactions to occur so that the noobs are better prepared to deal with more aggressive pirates when they are richer and greater targets.

LOOOL Mate... you wasnt interacting with someone because we was alone there... you was in a Stargazer level14 ship, totally newbie... usually newbies dont know how to reply in private, so I used local when you didnt responding... and trying to Record a video for RolePlaying in Pennsylvania... it ridiculous, you was just looking for something for complain about me again hahahahaha. And i must say, i have much more experience than you with newbies, and when they see im using "//" at the begining, they ask why, so is a good manner to explain them the diferences in RP and ooRP...

I didnt say just by being pirate is a rulebraker... where did you read that?... i said a lot coming to pennsylvania just for engage smallers with shouting just 1 word in chat, nobody have that privileges. And i repeat... i already has several GOOD ROLEPLAYING with SEVERAL pirates/nomads there... Of course, if i see a knowed crazy rulebraker (being pirate or not) i will run away and advise others... if not, after they destroy us for fun, he will continuous spamming with "you are die, leave the system..." hahaha.

You did break the rule of writing ooRP in local without emergency. So not sure why are you even arguing that it is justified. Use private chat next time and explain that newbie can use /r to write back.

Bah... before complain about me constantly, you should be more long time around Pennsylvania and watch more, not only arrive for looking something about complain.

Bye all.

Don't make this a trial by forum. If you've got an issue with //, then you should file a report instead of making an issue of it here.

he wasn't looking for you,he wasn't happy to see what you did either..

while you did tried to help a 'newbie' you could've done more harm then good if he actually was a newbie

in first interaction with the so called 'newbie' you not only managed to brake two rule yourself, but potentially set a newbie on a wrong path of which will never recover from..

People want to believe that God has a plan for them.

Not sure what's the issue if people are trying to tell Johhny not to break rules in setting example for newbies and trying to solve it here rather than through reports.

Most of us here are still playing Freelancer. If you want to play sanctionlancer, that's your call.

According to Spaz your attempt to help indeed did more harm than good, but even if he was lying and was only looking for a reason to complain again, you kinda gave him that. There is nobody else to blame for that, but yourself. Let's not even talk about your ridiculous claim of "experience". Use your preset messages in PM so that the newbies you try to teach will actually learn that it's not okay to do such in local unles absolutely necessary and that most importantly this is a Roleplay server. And try to take constructive criticism with a bit more open mind, consider them instead discarding them ignorantly. If I were you I'd be happy this feedback is present, preceding possible sanctions. You don't want to dig your own grave even further, do you?

My preset is automatically in PM via AutoHotKey, that is how I use it, in PM. I perfectly acept critics, but not from someone who is constantly in pursuit for complaint for something.

I can say the same of all of you, you are watching everything from your old member point of view, with knowledge about the server, what is happening and everything, but not looking from the point of view from newbies. Remember your first days, when you has no idea about what mean RolePlaying and those things.

After this, im totally sure what I will do from now... I hope Angels be more online from now, and we will see (we did in just 1 week before) what happens with newbies without idea about how to start and those things... as constructive critic to Angels, just sit and wait a newbie ask for help is not the way. Think they maybe come from single player, but they usually start totally wrong. I can be sure, you will encounter a lot of more unexperienced pilots around. Enjoy it!

If you guys was more around Pennsylvania and not only criticizing me for some situations you was looking (forcing), you will know it better. I see also, its much more dangerous to use ooRP than other rules! OMG.... That show what is important for you and what not. Overall when are just HARMLESS help messages.

I must say good bye Pennsylvania, was fun with some of you.
