Whilst in smaller craft the mission radius is no issue, when taking missions in Capitals such as Battleships keeping distance from your enemies is crucial; especially when flying the lighter vessels of that class.

With the recent battleship changes Cerbs aren't effective at missions anymore, because their effective range requires you to get far too close to your targets and the damage output is too small when you're being mauled by 6 NPC cruisers or 2+ NPC battleships or both combined.

Although heavies like Mortars are now the new meta, they are useless for missions because the mission forces you to cuddle with your enemies. Mortars are only effective at longer ranges, but in missions you have to stay very close to the waypoint otherwise you fail the mission by being too far away.

I suggest that we either increase the size of the mission radius to something like 5K, or we remove the penalty - mission faliure - for leaving the mission waypoint completely.

Right now, unless you have access to tanky/heavy BSes, it's extremely and needlessly (perhaps near impossible) difficult for factions with access to only light battleships to complete anti-Cruiser and anti-BS missions.

Hard-scripted into the game's source code as far I am aware, therefore no-can-do.

I guess it's even not possible to mix up the spawning enemy classes a bit more, right? I mean, okay, we get different kind of waves. 30 - 35 includes gunboats, 35 - 40 cruisers or gunboats and +40 are cruisers or battleships.

Looks like they can't spawn like patrols in territorys with like one capital and 2-4 lighter ships. Sad

For capship missions the trick to success Lyth is this:

Double Nova Bombers
Impulse till they trigger
start lobbing novas while they are all bunched up, then proceed to clean up the scraps.

Oh Vulk, you poor little thing.

He was talking about doing Nomad BATTLESHIP missions in Delta. You really can't lob Novas at them, and they pretty much move as soon as they're spawned.

She's right. NPC Duks have BS Nova immunity.

Sarcasm or not - you really can't spend more than three seconds to snac or nova at the npc sometimes, since they're chainfiring mortars, forward guns, heavy turrets and secondaries.

You especially can't when the majority of the missions also sometimes end up in the asteroid field

I have lobbed my entire magazine from a Dual Nova Waran at a lone NPC Duk in 99. After like the fifteenth hit to its hull, its Veil got blown off along with most of its turrets. After the Nova hits literally did not register against its hull, I burned through my supply of Hellfires to little effect.

This BS in the end burned through literally every munition I had to throw at it, and then ultimately died by going into the sun like the idiot NPC it is. My efforts brought it down to the high 80's at best.

The best way to do marduk missions is just to bring 3 guys - we've tried it on ossies and noone got killed.
Sometimes maybe 2 will be enough, if they're pr0

2 of us had to restock at Thebes before reaching the 2nd mission waypoint tho.
