Great! What I really like btw is the "hangar deck" at the bottom of the head. It looks like a completion of the upper armor.

Update on the development (because I'm too fond of this design and too impatient for feedback to wait for India to wake up, brush its teeth and have breakfast):

I like the shields on the rearmost engine. They remind me of hanging flags on a castle wall. Or of the shields that Norman ships used to carry on their flanks.

The blocks on top of the ribs look silly, should just axe those. The ribs themselves would look stronger if they connected to the main hull instead of simply hanging over it.

I'm not digging the armor plates strapped on to the engine, they just look taped on and like they're about ready to fall off with the rest of the engine. A better idea would be to work the panel covering the rear of the model (the one above the windows) into a protective plate for the outermost engine. It would make the whole rear of the thing feel more solid and flow better, you might even be able to get away with keeping the side panels if you do so.

You can also always push the outer engine closer to the main hull a bit, in case lengthening the top armor plate too much looks too tacky.

I do agree with Justin, the main engine looks way too long and is too....flat on top. Also, what I don't really like is the sides. Are those suppose to be cannons like the sail ships? Those open up and cannons get out ? Or what are those "fins" or "wings" ?

I also agree with Durandel. Also the ratio between the parts of the ship (head/middle/rear) are making it look extremely odd. For example when drawing humans - if the proportions are odd the human will look odd. That is not always bothering sci-fi ship models sharing strange shapes. Nevertheless good proportions are only going to represent the current model better.

So I've prepared an image to show you how to fix this.

In this example the head of the ship can be taken as "1" and according to that a size comparison between the other parts could easily be established.

- The top version have a ration of 1/2.2/2.14. Just by looking at the numbers and not the model at all - you will imagine this ship to have smaller frontal element...bigger middle part and almost as bigger rear part.
- The bottom version have a ratio of 1.3/2.2./1.3. This time you will imagine it to have similar in size frontal and rear parts and bigger part in the middle.

So:
1) I would recommend the ship "frontal" part to be extruded (keep the shape if you like it this way) but just make it longer. It will also give more space for windows/quarters and represent this as true massive ship carrying a lot of people where must live somewhere.
2) Keep the "middle part" but like Durandel suggested - making the ribs of the shell connected to the body would make it look more armored.
3) Diminish the length of the engine. Its uselessly larger. Bretonian designs are not featuring longer engines.

What you said - seems to be the idea. It looks logical the weapons to be "inside" the ship and protected instead - exposed. It would represent the carrier as "armored to the teeth" which in fact is part of the background story of the ship. It might look odd - resembling cannons from age of sails era. I do not participate in the creation of this model aside from commenting the forum though. So when I saw them I liked the idea.

For me I advise to completely change the front ship

Would just like to state that I disagree here. The closer the ratios get to FallenKnight's suggestions, the more this thing will look like a Dunkirk. Arguably, this is what makes the current model rather flawed; it doesn't stand out as its own ship but just looks like a huge Dunkirk.

The way the "head" is dwarfed by the rest of the ship just makes it look more like a carrier somehow, as far as I'm concerned. Ships aren't humans, they don't need human proportions.

The recent additions/update to the model are definitely not an improvement though. Lose the plates.

@Haste Like I said in my post - that proportion rule is not always important in the subject of sci-fi ships. It is all about if the ship is going to look cool or not in the end. Rheinland Carrier looks like smaller battleship and still is in the game and looks cool - part of the line (LN BB and CV are similar too).

The current carrier looking closer to Dunkirk was never the issue - the lack of detail and proper model on top of lack of real bret cap textures made it look like a thorn in the eye. From RP lore background - it is logical the carrier to be massive dunkirk due to lack of time to prepare something new. Nevertheless this new model does look awesome and the only "dunkirish" detail is the shell armor.

My point about the ration is only a suggestion the model to look bigger and aesthetically fine.

PS: Bret gb and Bret dessi share similar elements in "carrying" platforms with weapons. Historically during WW2 most carriers come from huge cruisers/battlecruisers and battleships designs. In disco - most ship share similarities. So just because the design might follow Dunkirk in terms of proportions doesnt mean the ship is Dunkirk copy.

I've made a orthogonal projection sketch.
