or better yet the admins could have just banned him (as he originally was) and saved a lot of wasted time.

The administration has collectively decided to ban these people, because after numerous temp-bans, warnings, what ever, theirs behavior haven't improved till now. Aren't the "every 2nd day a new staff just does shit post, the troll only mode" or the "I need hiding an insult in any 2nd word" be enough evidence? They can appeal after 6 months, regarding this the list should be even much longer.

Should be the next step a white text, seeing 2-3 angels go on strike or even a blue text seeing 8-9 faction leaders go on strike?

The text is still yellow, as long as you don't represent the dev team as whole or have the right to speak for them, please adjust the text color to standard as currently this is only a personal thing just that you and some others are part of the dev team.

Except that some people on that list haven't had a single sanction or tempban in their Disco career. Even if they had, the admins are going against the new system that they put in place themselves last month. Just completely bypassing any attempts at warnings, probations, or even tempbans and going straight to permabans without providing any reason beyond "you're toxic". Despite one of the people on that list being extremely helpful to anybody and everybody that needed it and the only thing pointing to them being banned is their disagreement with how Vipex screws up the mining system.

Out of sheer curiosity, my inner Sherlock Holmes noticed that Hastle, one of the names listed as supporting this movement (and active in this thread) has been banned (according to his signature) for an unspecified reason.

Are the people that are more in tune with the current member base than I am, able to tell me as to whether or not that was a direct result of Hastle's involvement with this? Or is it some kind of joke that I don't get.
