Honestly, I find this "strike" a bit foolish. Correct me if I am wrong but you were given the yellow by the administration. If you weren't given yelow by them, you wouldn't do what you like, if you like it at all.
You are responsible for the development on mod and after these DDOS, and to be honest, it is pretty obvious after the banning that occured, who could've be the mad kid with a lot of money. You, while currently stating this, what you state, only contribute to slowing down the Discovery mod evolving or process towards some goal. Again, you are contributing to what is going on with server. You are giving them the wings to do it.
I honestly think that administration never does bad things and that keep it pretty neutral. Everybody how ever, make mistakes. That's how every living being lives, especially us, humans. I remember that, if administration would make a wrong decidion, they would try and would work it out to be fixed, as it should be.
I'm not here to judge anyone, just to bring up some stuff that I've seen with those banned:
From my own, personal experience, I remember Mephistoles or however he's nicknamed, as a toxic arrogant kiddo, especialy in that Maltese General Chat on skype. Of course, I never backfired at him or to any of his friends. He constantly tried to make me mad or something, majority of chat would join him in what he does.
Snoopy, on the other side- I've never spoke to him outside of ingame, and that was all in RP, mostly while he was on his Marduk, we would RP in Omicron Alpha. I do not know why he is in this but a big kudos to his RP anyway.
Same goes to Karst, even if I've seen him a bit of controversal outside of the game and a bit weird, kudos to his RP- we had a lot of it!
Lythrilux was also one of the guys that could join the Mephistoles kind of people. Toxic, from my own experience.
And I really do not know anything about Swifty nor Impyness.
These were all my experiences, I only speak for myself. So, some of them are not so innocent at all, and I'm probably not the only one who would confirm this. If I was the only one, then they wouldn't end up like this.
To developers of this mod, again, this is a call for you not to contribute to already stupid happening that is going on.
Best regards.

I'm sorry, but the situation was indeed handled poorly. That's not an opinion, nor a belief, it's a fact. The problem is, what is the staff going to do about it from here on?
Though, I don't blame them, I suppose they discussed, and came up with that "solution" with best of intentions, but it turned out a disaster, as the way it was handled, was poor. I mean, first you get your solid reasons, arguments and rules broken presented, and then possibly have the offenders sanctioned depending on how severe the offence is.
Yes, this is an online community, surrounding a video game. But that does not mean common sense should be neglected when sanctions/punishments are involved. Since this process is essentially a form of judging people based on their actions and rules in the said community - when making decisions regarding such processes, the staff should deal only in exactitudes!
In an online community, that's the only way for credibility and trustworthiness to be gained and kept. And since I've read quite a lot of sanction related posts on this forum, I gotta say, the staff has managed to keep that credibility most of the time, because 99% of those decisions were driven and based on that same common sense I was talking about previously. Thus building a "structure" of credibility.
Alas.... a giant mistake (albeit a single one), can cause this whole "structure" to collapse, hence what we are seeing right now.
Summing this up....
Generalizing in sanction processing is bad.
Blanket sanctions are bad.

Are the people that are more in tune with the current member base than I am, able to tell me as to whether or not that was a direct result of Hastle's involvement with this? Or is it some kind of joke that I don't get.
Wow. This even dragged 13CentKiller out of the woodworks. (Morning Sir.)
Full disclosure: All staff are replaceable; applies to Administrators, Moderators and Developers. It is perfectly within the rights of all three groups as well as any given member to renounce undertaking any activity as they see fit. One cannot be forced to do a job.
I think Lythrilux is generally an annoying git and seeing him banned would be nice. I don't really consider any of the banned individuals usual friends and I suspect some of them dislike me heavily.
I don't even see a sanction thread for these banned people. I don't see a reason. From what I hear they themselves don't get evidence of their ban. That's ridiculous and deserves criticism and questioning.
I'd like to quote JihadJoe in the aforementioned thread:
An unbending Administration probably isn't in the best interests of the server right now. People accuse the developers of sticking up for their friends and it goes down all well like water, but the moment someone says the Administrators might have a single issue with bias or anything else it's somehow just washed down as a tin foil hat accusation. That double standard life. Is it ignorance or brown-nosing? I'm sure that's not just a false dichotomy fallacy either.
I'm keen to see whether an Administration that adopts, "Our way or the highway" can kill the server faster than developers who don't produce fresh content. Then we'll see how long Spazzydragon (or anyone else) stays active in a server which he's explored every single thing on, and how long this "community" lasts.
I've got no such clout, but at the very least I'm disturbed by how this went down. At the very least it needs review.
Everyone should have the right to make objections about any kind of sanctions imho and as I have knowledge of, the bans of the said people are still irregular and it sickens lots of people in a heavily developed community like Disco. There isn't much I can do but I support your strike. Besides all that, forgetting about improper bans n stuff, I fail to see how banning those people with influence in the community helps to the server in any aspect.

It really doesn't matter how much influence you have. That wont help protect you. This set of bans showed just that.
also to put my 2 cents in a hat, this "strike" as you call it is ridiculous.
good excuse for a holiday

The question that springs into my mind is what kind of conclusion do new players, checking out the forums and seeing this thread, come to regarding Disco.

What kind of conclusion do new players, checking out the forums and seeing any of the threads related to this six-ban drama, come to regarding Disco? This isn't the only thread where we could ask this question.
A sixban thread has no impact on the mod though. A devteam strike though, that would rise some eyebrows.
