The Kotetsu was intended to be a heavily modified Tokugawa, yet as usual I see the official faction it pertains to is jumping the gun and doing RP on another super secret battleship project. Sigh.

The model itself isn't too bad, though it suffers from the usual problems your models do. Repetitive detailing on a lot of areas, and the engines are just.. no. Those tapered tubes look like somebody could fly out in a space suit and pull them off of the ship.

It looks like a spaceship-themed dragon rather than a dragon-themed spaceship.

BD 2iC here (As my main account is down for a while).
We never intended for it to be a super battleship, we do plan however working extremely hard to get it, I (shizune) knew it was suppose to be a heavily modified KuBS in advanced and took those steps. The details you read is just something I typed up without going to overboard as it would be the most modern warship for the dragons, no planning for a super battleship. Also if you mean secret then yes, the dragons would build their warship in secrecy so no one would find out about it, like a lot of people do but that's only for the write up, I did plan to bring others into the RP during its construction and RP.

It's not so much super secret as it looks right now, as said we plan to involve others during its construction, making and RP then keeping it super secret, I myself have already sout out the admins to triple check things along the entire way, the one thing we're just trying to do is have fun with the project rather than just getting it, as the BD| HC has requested, so we're putting our effort into making it something fun for people in the faction and those around us. Were not jumping the gun, as the thread says, it's under construction, meaning the thread itself is, not the warship.

Trust me when I say this Durandal, we plan to involve others, I'm just laying the groundwork while others are busy today is all. After all I rather do something myself and get the ball rolling then leave everything boring, dull and empty and make it take forever. That's the number one thing I'm trying to avoid.

Edit: To answer the other questions and because things were brought up, the Dragons got tons of funding, that's not a problem in the least, the problem is materials hence why the post was made. Also brought up because we used noticed...

A heavily modified KNF BS? Not only is that completely illogical for what we're about to say, it is impossible. BD DONT HAVE any Kusari naval battleships, if the Kotetsu is being made from KuBs's that we just change, we would never do it to begin with. Why downgrade a warship then just use the KuBs? What would be the point? Now onto another point, what Kusari battleships would we use? We don't have any beyond a single one which is still under lockdown and in drydock, and we sure as heck are not turning that into a Kotetsu unless the owner says otherwise.

So back to the point, yes, we got the funding, that's not a problem, and were already calling in help for resources, yet if it is true that they are derived from KuBs's that are heavily changed, then I do hope that you can explain where the sudden, out of no where, BD KNF BS's came from? Because that's why we have the Togo in the first place, because its the only battleship BD can get their hands on. No one told us anything about the thing, so were RPing it out in a matter that makes sense, that being the construction of one rather than the completely illogical 'turning KuBS's into Kotetsu's'.

It looks neat, though I struggle to see how the Dragons can afford this. Nice model, though.

Also, Shizune, why did you work so hard to have your account banned, and then continue to post using faction accounts?

Edit: Could do without... 100% of of the useless spikes that have no purpose and also detract from the quality of the model. You're channeling your inner Jinx here, trying to make the ship look unique, though it ends up looking a little ridiculous.

That is actually a really nice model. Though i agree with the removal of the spikes, for one it'll be a nightmare in asteroid fields (Where Dragons usually end up anyways) and also it looks like it'll sooner try and impail the ship it's attacking on the prow, instead of using it's weaponry, as funny as that would be to see. I personally don't think it needs some spikes to look good.

Nice model overall, though as said above, can BD actually afford it? just my take on it i suppose.

Repetitive detailing is deliberate, Deliberate because its based on this design(FG Variant). As for the tapered tubes, its still a concept and i was trying something different apart from the same old blocky engines.

TBH I fail to see why you brought Jinx up here.

If you read the OP, you will notice the word "Concept". It is based on Concept Testing .Understandably it will be unique... and perhaps ridiculous(that depends on the viewer)

If you dailed back the "fingers" on the front wings I'd say that ship would look quite at home in the Hogosha line, maybe as a transport?

I like it, safe for the trumpets engines.
If you can change the engines to something akin to what the Togo or KuBS has, then it should look a little less like a orchestra in space

This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.

The model itself looks good, but impractical. You've put so many bits-and-pieces on it that will make it harder to put hardpoints for weapons that have a good viable angle, as from what I can see, most of the weapons will probably be positioned on the top of the ship which will prove to be a very bad idea. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of spikes which will most likely give people trouble as they move in asteroid fields, which are basically existing in almost every Kusarian system, and Chugoku which is simply an asteroid field itself.

That aside, does the BD really afford to make a new battleships/dreadnoughts? I misst the RP when the BD only had 2 active Togos.

Y'know if you shortened the midships you could probably make this into a snazzy cruiser hull.
