ENTRY: Discussions

I returned from the last planet to the Wraith to have a break and to sort out an apparent issue on-going. Returning, I learned that the Order wanted my execution in order to resolve the diplomatic issues, I discussed potentially using one of the subjects from Thalette who resembled me, being used as a ‘sacrifice’ for the Order. Checking out the Med-bay down in Zeta Section, I spoke with Glass about it. Annoyingly, I’m still extremely fatigued from my journey, of course, my disconnection didn't prove well for my mental and physical health.

So he agreed with it, but, I had a feeling that they would be more useful as a doppelganger than a sacrifice. I tiredly reconnected to the mindlink earlier than I should have, needless to say, it was pain. As. Hell. From there on, we proceeded to discuss about a range of matters with the other pilots, primarily focusing on the Order. I kept up my sacrificial attitude to test the opinions and loyalty of my people, which proved rather successful.

Of course, offering ‘anything’ to them would make it seem like a victory, and that it would put us in a bad light had we used the doppelganger. As such, we won't please the Order. Anyway. Avoiding work related matters, I cannot continue with placing out the tablets, as my condition is… causing my fatigue, making me physically incapable. I got out of the last planet by the skin of my teeth, with additional help of an adrenaline shot. For now, I rest in my room on the Wraith, in the Kansas system. Our operation with Vertigo - whatever - was successful, and the fleet is on the move again. This time, I only hope we settle for once. I can sense a lot of paperwork coming up in the following weeks, ha.

But for now, I should rest and return to meditating sometime soon, as I haven’t really… done that in a while.

ENTRY: Thoughts

Upon meditating about the recent scenarios, it has recently came to my mind instead of, “what if I leave him” -but if - “that he leaves me”?

He has the Dawnbreaker and all the information on the singularity cannon. I realised that now, I must obtain it, somehow, and back it up - securely. Even if it’s unlikely that he’ll leave me, but it’s still possible he may die or be infested, as such, I feel like if it’s my duty to preserve it. There’s still a lingering feeling of guilt and invasion in my mind, do I really want to do it to poor Hunt? There’s a reason why it’s only on him, and I may make things worse. Who knows. What if he truly leaves or perishes? I can’t risk it.

I’m currently devising a plan to somehow get it. I was thinking of hiring some armed grunts or disguising some droids as some hired arms to knock us both out, me first then him, and ensure that they sedate him, keeping him unconscious as we… check him for the plans on the Eidolon. Upon completion, I’ll order them to take us to a bizarre location such as Wichita surface and have a scout time coincidentally find us. Maybe. I still need to think about it.

I’ll check over the medical records with ERIDIAN, see if they detect anything. As for now, I’m still taking the time in rest in my room.

Huh.

He just straight up and gave me the backup of the Dawnbreaker. That was… truly unexpected. The data is split up into two incase of his death or infestation, and that the datachip would delete itself if the person attempting to enter the datapad got the password wrong too many times. Oh well.

So ZZ-0002 was finally awoken as my doppelganger… I don’t know how to treat them. As robots? As Humans? As fake life-forms? As servants? What? This is really confusing me. She sounded… quite robotic as she emerged too… it was, eh… undescribable.

But huh. Glass really wasn’t joking when he said that she looked alike to me, it’s very unsettling. I couldn’t really contain it. I left the room to try analyse the scenario and came back in. For now, I called her Aria as a temporary name until I can think of something suitable. Though, I started to fall asleep in the medbay, so Hunt picked me up and brought me back to bed.

I couldn’t help but act… weird, unnatural, spontaneous, just out of it. I ended up going to New Berlin, extremely angry at Hunt as I wanted some time to be alone, of course - he was following me. I hid in a toilet stall, and Hunt snuck in, posing as a cleaner, putting a sign up. I pretty much threw a bottle at his face and duked it to my ship. Admittedly, it was amusing.

A weird anomaly. I hit him by accident. I didn’t mean it. I hope he forgave me for it. I don’t know. I just kind of… ran to the Zeta section to check up on my medical record in privacy. Glass walked in though, interrupting my search. Glass suspected something was up, thus I attempted to shift out of the room, hoping they wouldn’t notice. Aria came in by surprise, christ, that … being scares me sometimes.

Slowly beginning to get bored, I started to eat ice-cream to wash away this anomalous pain that occurred to me, hiding in the toilet. Someone came in. Someone who wore these black combat boots, armored clothing. They were using the sink, I hear the taps flowing, them sighing. Whoever it was, they sounded in pain.

Of course, I accidentally made noises, and began to quickly check on my personal communicator to see who it was. ERI identified it as Zeta-Zeta Zero Zero Zero Two. Aria. They acted… different from before. With me stuttering away like a vibrating beetle and my anxious dispositioned view of them, I accidentally dropped the spoon and she detected me.

She… acts like me. I scared her slightly, she didn’t expect me to be here, she began to say her worries and fears. Everyone looks at her in a weird fashion. She tried to socialise. No one wanted to talk with her. They all thought she was weird and out of place.

…

She’s just like me. She’s a person. She isn’t a biological machine. She’s family. I realised that now. From there on, I offered her to hang out with me, so that we both feel a bit more bonded. We undocked from the Barrier Gate, meeting Locklear. I played Aria off as a friend who has lost their memory, which does the explaining of why they don’t know some things, and that I’m helping said friend. Annoyingly, a fool named Reeves came along and told Locklear that me and Hunt are one. This caused Locklear to… eh… well… he got angry at me and told me, “eff you. “ - more or less. I tried asking Hunt about Reeves but… I lost his signal.

He abandoned me… He’s gone.

I flipped. I ran off to Cambridge to my old home, Aria came with me. The emotions were beyond logical control. It just flowed in with sorrow, the connection felt faded from it all. I needed time to cool down, to try and get a grasp. I learned that Aria was biologically nineteen, but according to data from Glass, she is mentally sixteen or seventeen - around that range roughly.

Glass called me, he informed me that Hunt fell unconscious from shock and was in med-bay. Being slightly relieved, I hurried on back with Aria, seeing him in bed, curled up - he was afraid. Completely frozen in fear with the idea that he ruined our relationship, that his heart was shattered to bits, I could sense it from him.

It’s a blur as to what happened that night, as I found myself awake again, my memory distorted ahead of time, only to recall Aria weeping, her noting that people - notably Miri - calling her different, of course, I catered to her feelings, saying that everyone else is just jealous. Which it probably is. After-all, she does take after me. Haaaa.

In the end, I managed to invite her over to my home on Cambridge. Hunt came over after me and Aria spoke, she noted that he didn’t really speak to her. I forced him to, heh. He also mentioned that it was his birthday tomorrow, which it was to both of our surprise as none of us realised it. Turning thirty-nine. Throughout the duration, Aria questioned us of our past and how we came to be, we indulged her on the queries and at the end, I flipped a little and went to have a breather in the garden, reminding Hunt that she is properly part of our family line.

From there, we all took the longer trip through Rheinland to return to the ‘Eido, as a sightseeing tour.

Later that night, I went for a fly and bumped into Locklear, he really didn’t want to see me and I tried my best to repair the friendship that we had. He noted of how he accidentally harmed his bartenders and almost two of his lieutenants because of his inability to cope with depression and his insufferable alcohol addiction. Of course, I knew he isn’t going to see to reason, so he kept going on, as did I. He mentioned that he did not want to see my face, a quick solution to that was to draw a smiley face onto a paper bag and put it over my head, acting as the pseudo face. We spoke of Reeves and how he had an apparent attraction, everything was going predictably until…

It’s become more apparent to me that I’m… too used to emotions. They dominate me. I shouldn’t have cried. That was… impossible, improbable - just out of the equation. Those words hurt, because it came from a friend, and perhaps that is what I did not adapt to. Friendships. As I scrawl down these bits with my neural-pen and speak this aloud, I still feel this blistering sadness within, slowly cracking up inside me. In the end, we had to leave as the Legion had to deal with some Liberty Navy. I ran back to the Eidolon to create some soup as a reliever.

I undock to hearing Reena visit by the area, and her noting:

I soon learned that Reena was talking about me, my mind set, my attitude and what I’m possibly trying to achieve. Disturbing, to say the least, but she would be correct upon the splitting aspect. I queried her about her connection to the main mindshare, of course, she is with them again. The Kong- huh, Lightseeker departed after fulfilling my curiosity.

Knowing that Hunt’s birthday was coming up, I went back to the room, inviting Aria to stay over at our quarters, and pretended to rest. I woke up after an hour and started preparing for his ‘big day’ tomorrow.

Blargh, I decided to try and wake myself up by going out for a flight and a hunt, turns out, some idiotic Navy pilot thinks we’re more important than the Rogue, which they helped get away. Charming morons. Their angering incompetence sure woke me up alright. So we … spared them as they ran and returned home. Eh.

Aria came around and I appointed her as my assistant in training. Taught her a few cooking tips, or at least what I knew anyway. It sufficed.

I came up on the Eidolon’s bridge to check how thing’s are going, but apparently, Hunt had a meeting with Locklear, thus, Hunt asked me to leave.

As if that was going to go well. Though, jokes on me, it did. Apparently Locklear only came to kill Hunt - heh - though he restrained himself on that, in favour of me. ‘Apparently’. So they spoke it out. I still don’t believe it though, it’s within Locklear’s nature to act… almost childish when it comes to handling matter. He relies on his emotions too much. So I just went back to overseeing the preparation for the night. Tiring. Hunt told me that Locklear wanted to apologise - that he’s willing to be ‘happy that I’m happy’ - eh. Still can’t believe it.

Still tiredly working on the ‘surprise’ for him - The guests are almost here, me and Aria just finished setting up the tables. I can’t believe I almost forgot about inviting Inge - cover name also known as Miri - who was one of the few people who knew that Curator was Hunt. Heh.

It went… It went well… I forgot to finish Hunt’s present, but he said he didn’t mind. I’m… I’m glad it went well. Everyone was… happy… Je-jeez, I’m so tired.

So relieved. Now I can finally sle-....eep…

Quiet day today. Spent some time talking with Aria but, for the most part, I’ve been working on designing blueprints for another pistol. Besides that - I also got quite a few paperwork done. Ataraxia is back on the rail, and well… things generally seem to be looking up. Or at least I would hope so. I still don’t know how to approach Hunt and his over-attaching attitude.

I took a pause and went out to get some clothes for Aria, but besides that, pretty quiet day. Took a nap when I got home, and now I’ve started to slowly work on my blueprint again.

Maybe later. Too tired. Always tired. Speaking of tired, I just remembered that I went to see Glass but bah, it was futile to 'open up' with my problems. Glass referred me to - gasp - who would have thought - more medication!

The mood swinging problems are not going to be solved by any other natural means. I guess I'll just have to meditate more often. I decline to even try these tablets because it simply will offset my bodily balance. I don't care about using pathetic ways to cure myself. Bah. Time to work, and work, and work. I'm slowly becoming agitated by these mundane issues though.

So after drowning in seas of paperwork on the Eidolon, I received an ‘emergency call’ from Hunt concerning a ‘personal emergency’ about Aria. I packed my equipment and put on my armor and hurried off to Honshu. Annoyingly, the worker bots didn’t get to change the fuel tank on my Prosecutor, so in Sigma-13, I ran out of fuel and had to make a pit spot to refuel and to quickly buy a tank replacement. Bastard thing cost £400,000. Either way, I spent around twenty minutes trying to get that fixed up, when I finally did, I continued my little voyage to Planet Honshu.

But when I got there, oh boy, did I ever make a mistake of not stopping to think that this was a surprise and that it was on /Honshu/. It. Was. Hot.

Landing on the designated docking area, we entered the tower building, the reception being noticeably empty. How suspicious. We continued on upstairs, reaching the entrance doors, Hunt pushed open the doors and blam, confetti, a big ‘Happy Birthday’ banner, and people around. I’m amazed. Noah and Inge in one room together.

To summon up the party, we spoke, we ate roast turkey, and had cake for dessert. Though, I couldn’t help notice when I was inspecting the blade, that Noah was giving off… dark auras. His body posture was off, his eyes looked cold - paranoid - afraid. I put the blade away after seeing him act in such way. Perhaps it was from his past? Or his job? Afterall - we did find out on the Eidolon that he’s actually Johan Lennox, heh.

Hunt wanted to see me in private, he showed me to the quarters and revealed the hidden dragon workshop. He fixed up my old blade and improved it. I… like that he did that, but he’s hurting a relic of mine. Oh well… Guess old things are old. Eh. When I dropped the blade, it was noticeable that it embedded into the floor granite, the diamond material of course adding to that sharpness. Heh.

We concluded that night.

So, Bretonia has requested our help with the Hessians. Of course they’d attack Bretonia, the bloody thirsty mongrels… We moved the Eidolon to the area of Cambridge, approaching with the Norfolk to get a secure communication line as their original message got completely corrupted. Speaking with some of the local cadets, they don’t seem to know why the Hessians attacked, eh.

We received the word that we have permission to roam the borders of Bretonia, and to only enter when they are in need of assistance. We set up a relay buoy in the ice field, on a big chunk of ice to hopefully secure the communication line. Of course, we’ll remove it when this whole mess is over.

Ah well. I wasn’t really listening properly, but apparently Noah said something about Inge, that she isn’t who she says to be. She’s Schwungvoll. Buro agent. I’ll admit, I did and didn’t see that coming. Looks like Koch might be after the Dawnbreaker after all huh? No surprise, Geoff did explicitly state his hatred towards it and wished for it’s removal.

Huh.

I wonder if she actually sees us as friends, or if that was a facade. Perhaps I could attempt to convert her. Who knows. We’ll see.

Hunt got his armor on and invited her to the bridge of the Eidolon, grabbing out his gun and started to intimidate her. She was afraid, unsure, being scared that they may be found out. After Hunt reassured me that the gun was empty, I went back to working on some data files to transfer to the IRG, completely ignoring Hunt and Inge - I started looking at this image of Destiny’s Eye from the uplink - but…

Then….

I saw it

It was here. Why? How? What? What for?

I admit, I was… scared. But I’m reassuring myself that it was a coincidence. I looked up to see it in the distance, the noise of Hunt and Inge washing out of my hearing, the only thing I could think of is them and just how aware their senses truly are. I saw it running around in the distance a couple of times. But… later on… some anomalous activity was detected in the system sector. Masses of energy and gravitational disturbances. We all set off to scout out what it was, finally locating the source of it.

A lair that was folded in, and the Eye lurking around. It seemed that they wanted to give a message, a warning to everyone. So… I guess… it was just a coincidence. Slightly calming.

I noted down and recorded what was said, they seemed to intend to persuade others to not harm their kind - to not get in the way, and to simply leave them be - and people who do that, will be unharmed. It’s still somewhat curious though. The eye and the structure seemed to ‘vanish’ after they were done with their little message. Why startle the locals for this message? Was that object an illusion? Was it real? Was it a foresight of the future - of what is to come? Or am I worrying too much, induced naturally by my animalistic instincts of maternity? Either way, I still await for their move on Akabat as foreshown, the ‘energy’ fired from afar, wiping out the ‘darkened ones’. Just to validate their claims.

Though… I have a very strong feeling that we’re next if Hunt continues on the Dawnbreaker. Which he will be, and - good god, I don’t want to be here to witness that. I need a backup location to hide away for when all hell breaks loose.

I may have uh… forgotten to take my medication. I spent some times in the hidden tunnels, the south network. I went to the ‘safe house’ - which is just the maintenance shaft room. It’s rather cosy there, but uh… I… kept watching Aria and Hunt.

The sirens call was insanitable.

I went over to Rheinland to observe some Hessians causing trouble, but I dared not to interfere. Fortunately, the Hessians had lost to some ragtag Freelancers acting as defence for the structure, though, I shortly discovered that Reena was stalking me. Or just happened to be in the same place.

Or at least, that's what I originally thought.

She reappeared in Omega-3, happening to clear out some 'dark lings' as she would mark this lesser pirate as. We flew away and began to converse. I queried her, knowing that I have assisted in destroying the shell.

She ran through, I panicked and followed... I focused on the memories implanted inside of me from the mindshare, I recall this place. Oddly enough, it feels like home... In the end, I departed, I was becoming ill - sickened, weakened. My mind felt heavy upon itself - collapsing within.

I can try and... experiment on myself. Or I can accept their 'redemption' and be one of them within the mindshare. Or I can wait my days out and eventually die. So far, I'm choosing to experiment on myself. 24 hours. I'm going to try and identify the energy type, waves, structure, so on, so forth.

Most curious how it hasn't affected Hunt though? Although, I have been... influenced by artifacts in the past. Perhaps we should also bring in the few sole survivors of that incident on the Wraith. I'm not sure. But for now, I'm a puppet - lingering between insanity, death and life, a hellish form of limbo.

He arrived on the 29th, 8th month. I was sedated, unaware of his arrival the night prior. A growth stimulant went wrong in the nanite repair system, acting as a catalyst for his development. Due to this, I was submitted to medical for a long time due to the extensive pain, but... that day feels so distant now.

All I can remember is Hans coming onboard, they assumed I lost my mind, thinking I was trapped within my past, trying to escape the chambers of the medical bay.

So much has happened, it's truly a struggle to keep up. My mind is scarred, forcing me to medicate more and more often, I always feel screaming agony in the back of my mind. It's so... tiring. It's a worm that wishes to aggressively eat through my mind, then usurp my mental power to destroy everything else.

But action is like a drug to me. The hyperventilating feeling of pacing in to operation, exerting myself to pure bliss. Combat is my delectation, I can't help it - it's a part of me that can't go, but I know I must grow out of it.

She briefly consumes a small object, forcing it down reluctantly.

Gah, temporary measures. The solid intakes aren't as great to do, but these euphoriants suffice, especially when they kick in. It's a cheap way of self-control. I hate it. I really do regret leaving the Omicrons. The energy has been building up more and more.

But alas, returning to the matters, the study notes haven't been going so well. Though, a recent batch of fresh artifacts from the deep Omicrons finally arrived weeks ago, not to mention the ones we extorted. As for the tests, we still need a few test subjects... Or perhaps that 'Merc that is secured within the brig will like to volunteer. Hrrrrm.

We'll see about it.
