For instance, let's assume we have Military ID and whatever information is written into it. It is generic and have negative rephack towards nomads / wilde.

Make another ID, clone the name and the infocard into it, it will be of the same content, but with the rephack towards nomads / wilde that is appropriate for wilde player.

This is actually a bloody good idea. It would be a trade in of the PvP freedom that the Wild ID offers for being able to play as a member of a faction that is infected. It also shouldn't be too hard to implement.

Ramke suggested this possibility some time ago. No one cared iirc.

Really a nice idea. Bet it will be implemented in 4-5 years then.
It is just sad seeing Wild ID getting reduced to what it is now.
You cannot even use an untagged civilian ship with only civilian equipment and detailed explanations iRP for a broken transponder at the moment without getting identified as Wild in the end. Excuse in most of these cases: ID showed you are a Wild.

Then, apparently, it is either not an issue and most are happy with things as they are, or we can try again on this one.

Edit: but again nothing prevents one from RPing as given in my example on a previous page. Complicated but possible

I'd suggest opening another thread for this and simply having a survey to see how people think of the idea. Then it would simply take a bit of time of the persons doing IDs.

Better create a "Secondary ID" that gives you the nomad/wild rephack and an additional rule set, without to affect the IFF and reps of your primary ID. This secondary ID should be mountable together with a normal ID, such as a Military one. I think that's better than having thousands of copies. By that you would at least look like a Military pilot, while the current Wild ID tells you nothing about the pilot's former affiliation and just messed up your rep and IFF.

Most people will ignore whatever cover you're having and instantly go "stop lying, ur actually infected! engage!".

It's gone to the point where most have given up. The Liberty event started because LN were ignoring an infected's cover and kept implying they're hostile and infected. If you want roleplay, you're better off using an FL ID or something else and trying to make yourself a nomad supporter or something.
The thing is though Ramke, in the almost 7 years I've played here I've never come across a Wilde trying to do anything besides drop 1-2 lines and engage everything. Even when I've acted like I didn't know they were wilde, playing off their ship and tech combo, but still oneliners and shooting

You have been very unlucky then =(

Even before I was in a Wild faction myself I had a lot of cool encounters with D9 and Wilde.

Exactly. Me and Petko were doing that thing way back in 2008 or 2007, when we made two Wraiths with standard RM weapons and RP-ed in Sigma-13 as agents of the Wilde, retrieving data from some derelict old rheinland cruiser in the debris field.

In those years, it was next to impossible to get an invitation to join The WIld, as the faction leader had a set number of close friends who were privy to participate. We gave up on the idea to join, but we did have fun on our own, as our RP in Sigma-13 got us into epic fights with the Blood Dragons and Corsairs all at once. Two Wraiths did in fact destroy more than 7 ships, one of them a corsar Lunchbox.

@SkyNet the thing is to prevent instant compromise of your affiliation. Anything that is not just an ID that is absolutely identical to a generic one will compromise you. Sure thing that tags and forum and ingame RP make it no secret you are "one of them", but this way you won't look very odd with that ID and IFF saying you are.

The question is if we want to trick players or have information open as it is now?
