both viable suggestions, but, we all know that shield busters are here to stay. they wont be removed from disco, and also, that if no such thing is done, people will continue to use debbies, and the neverending arguement will.. never end.

i was just trying to help by tring to reach a solution for people, but meh, if nothing wants to be done, who am i to complain? i dont use shield busters anyway (except the inferno, which i use on the appropriate bombers)

i personally think mjolnir's suggestion of making the debilitator/adv debilitor availiable for pirate use, and the imp debilitator of lawful only use is a good idea, since that allows the gun to be used fairly, but hey, its not me to decide, so, ill just let this idea die along with any others.

Not everyone should have a shield buster. I'd say have 3 lines. Corsair line (available to Corsair alliance), Lane Hacker line (available to Outcast alliance), and a Civilian line (the debbies) that are available ONLY to lawfuls. 'CP-m Improved Debilitator Lawful Pulse Cannon' or something like that..

In my opinion, if a faction has their own busters, its what they should use. Corsairs should use their Corsair busters, Outcasts would use theirs, and lawfuls would use theirs, with no intermixing going on. That way certain groups have ups and downs of their busters. Corsair Alliances would have the most powerful, but also the ones consuming the most energy, as well as slow projectile speed (which is a plus, as it matches codes and nomads). Lawfuls would have a balanced version in my opinion, with the fastest projectile speed (750 I believe it is). Outcast Alliance would have the least powerful (in terms of total damage, with refire factored in), but also less power-hungry, with a middle projectile speed (650 - 700).

Could someone put a list of refire speeds for the current level 8-10 shieldbusters?

They've all been 4.00 bar the Inferno (which isn't even in a class) since forever... del cid and deb.

Oh yeah, we have the defiler, technically a level 10 weapon but available to none.

Also, Gurjiv will make SO much more money than he already does. I can see him selling them for 200mil a pop at the base rate.

24k shield damage per second off a bomber with four mounted... thats... Inferno-type damage.

Make it KNF exclusive because of their NPCs which mount them!

LOL.. nah, itd be much higher, with people actually buying it at that price as well:lol:

but on a serious note,

i like mjolnir's idea. make the deb/adv deb availiable to everyone, and the imp debs lawful only. it makes it within RP for people who RP out of the way factions to have sheild busters.

Shield killers blazing, then those pesky Bounty Hunter's shields gone and then finishing them of with a well placed missile or or Blaster Shot.
I reckon they should also add a KO zone on the cockpit of fighters.

*cough* inferno I don't use debs on any of my ships. and you can rip ashield quite easily with krakens to be honest.

Teh Xenos have access to shield busters. We've got rumors and news articles up the yinyang showin how we raid Ageira on the daily to snatch 'em up!

I own a total of 2 shieldbusters (which proves that they are NOT needed to win.. Some people seem to think they are..:dry:) and they are on a rarely-used ship, so I don't know.. Plus I've never used Debbies (don't like the projectile speed.) I own 2 Tizzys and an Inferno, so shutness.

Would you guys like it if I make a balanced set of weaps for each group, based off of the currently existing Del Cids and Debbies? I'll be making changes to Debbies where required, and then making a new Lane Hacker buster. They will all be balanced towards having almost the same damage per energy usage, with different projectile speeds, and the energy usages will be what makes them different. I'll also rebalance the Colada, since all it does is take up a level 10 slot and doesn't produce the amount of damage its energy usage says it should..
