Do you think that this no longer happens? The admin team is a decent size, but even there, this is not their full time jobs and they have limited amount of time/resources; cutting corners may still be a problem.

Time is going to be spent regardless of whatever shortcuts are taken. You either spend your time carefully processing the sanction, or you spend your time fixing the mistake, or you spend your time dealing with the fallout of doing nothing. Same with communicating with the community. You spend your time talking things out and coming to a clear understanding/reasonable conclusion, or you spend your time dealing with angry community members that feel like they are dealing with uncaring or harsh admins. The time will be spent, it's just a matter of how you want to spend it.

It certainly has the propensity to happen, as I and others have done our fair share of arguing to make sure that a sanction is actually following the wording and spirit of the rules, and always erring on the side of caution when it comes to decisions. Some members of the staff either don't see it that way or (as is far more likely) are too busy with other duties to really have the time to sit down for every single sanction that flops onto the desk. Is that a problem? Definitely, but at the same time, I can understand it, especially when the feuds between group X and Y get out of hand and reports start flying back and forth because both groups are clearly in the right when, honestly, they both have things to own up to. That's why we try to have a varied team, although some parts of the community are certainly misrepresented. However, a varied team includes a varied admin team, and if that's something that's lacking now, then we need to change that.

First of all, it's just an event. The event I can see from reading this had problems and holes in it that conflicted with rules. If they were calmly taken care of and make whole then would this have happened? Unlikely.
Secondly, you can do the event again. Stop getting your butt majorly hurt over this and bringing back discussions that have long ago been buried to the point that you are questioning about the admin (when before when the Admin was announced you were ok with it and didnt speak up.)

I'll personally not bother even filling an appeal about the outrageous sanction. I mean, Hannibal handled this evidence to me last time.

nice try but that's not what you receive,that's not even the interesting part of someone who was in your group but didn't shoot the recruit id (that someone was @Tachyon )
you receive the evidence for 4 players(including yourself) in the form of chat logs and what was submitted by the person who reported you both in form of screenshots and chat logs

Hannibal when are you gonna answer the accusations of bias in your decisions? are you afraid to own up to the truth and tell us why Lyth got banned for like no reason other than your own personal ones or something? or why you like to harass XTF at events and other players yeah?

Like what are the Staff trying to prove by banning Lyth from the community for 6 months. You didn't give a reason why he had to go that's within the rules and his evidence didn't point to anything.

It's been 3 months. Do you feel better about yourselves yet, whilst Core| and the Omicrons and Omegas die from no activity?

Hannibal doesn't make decisions on his own. Lay off him. If he made those decisions by himself, fine. Though that is not the case.
You clearly have your concerns, though will pointing fingers to the degree you have really solve anything? Be constructive.

Consider this your warning. The feedback thread here is something that the administration team legitimately thinks about. It's not something to put up and ignore. You've been touching the line of borderline harassment for a little while now.

But you guys just seem to sweep everything under the rug, which you're even trying to do with your recent post. When people give you critism, constructive or otherwise, you just ignore it.

You said yourself you know I've got concerns, so why didn't you address any of them? Why won't the Staff own up to their mistakes or even just give a reason why Lyth was banned? what was so bad about him that he gets a 6 month ban but 4 others get probation, even though all of his evidence was forum based?

And don't just vaguely say "toxic" again. That doesn't work. It's just back to square one with your bias. And if that is it just admit it.
