Bad call

It might just be a warning but the fact that this in-particular is viewed as a bad exploit is really a bad call on behalf of the staff and whatever person reported it.

As someone who knows caps quite well (and im sure everyone who knows me can confirm that) as well as the people I fly caps with and against normally including @Titan*, @Thunderer, @Jayce, @Gagadug, @Unlucky_Soul, and @"Karl Heinz Wallenstein" which are some of the best if not the best cap players on the server, this "bug" is not one in particular that can be called a harmful exploit. Seriously whoever reported that was probably just butthurt they didn't have a CDer. Every veteran capital ship player including myself has done that with no complaints against them. I seriously think that this shouldn't be viewed as exploiting. If you look at it from a tactical perspective most of the time the bug is used by dreadnoughts. The guy who was sanctioned was flying a valor i.e. a dreadnought. With the recent battleship changes dreads are useless at turret steering and literally cant do anything more than tank an enemy. Dreadnoughts need to resort to using what I'd call the "shotgun" tactic which involves either buttcoaking your enemy, which most people including myself can confirm that cloaks are just straight girl material (unless ur flying a ransy or legate (^: ). Or the other method is using the EK tactic. This is basically the only way to make dreads work effectively in group fights ever since the cerb nerf light and med battleships have always had the upper hand. Now more than ever. It's something no cap pilot I've known has had a problem with in the past, I don't see why it should be an issue now.

^^ For those of you that look at it from an RP perspective if you "shut down" your cruise engines and drift wouldn't it make sense that you regain your energy anyways? Seems sorta silly too me, anyways I talked with a few of my cap buddies and decided this was a something we should mention. It's not really a harmful exploit, all you need to counter it is a CDer. I hope the admins take a look at this especially.

But yes, I generally agree that this wasn't deserving of even a warning, because I know I've done this before numerous times, and so has almost everyone.

Obviously I agree with Wesker, except about dreadnoughts being underpowered, at least in group fights. I've killed Wesker's Jorm using my Bismarck many times, both in duels and group fights. The Valor is still the best BS in the game, both in groups and solo.

There are some other bugs to address too, some of which should indeed be considered bugs. For example the pulse bug. Pulses are supposed to deplete energy, not recharge it. Let alone recharge much more than they take to fire. I mean, I am supposed to be stupider than physics, not vice-versa.
This happens when negative damage is applied to energy. Why doesn't it if it's applied to hull? Maybe this can be fixed?

Not going to lie, i'm shocked this was even made as a warning. It's common knowledge (or should be and even more shocked it's not) that with an engine kill your core comes back. I've done it plenty of times, while being an admin no less. It was never an issue, never considered a bug or an exploit, and was part of game mechanics.

Seriously Admin team? I know the struggle and that violation reports aren't always clear, but this is something I would've fought 100% against, even as a warning. It's not an exploit. It's not a bug.

I agree. I don't believe that that is a bug in any way. There is no gravity, so when you EK aka turn off your engines you'll drift away in the direction you were going to, and since you're not using any power for the engines your power core will recharge.

Blaming your incompetence and lack of CDer in a cap fight on someone who knows more techniques than you isn't really how it goes.

Just 2 cents from someone who used to be good in caps

Huh... so... caps regain energy when drifting in EK after Cruise? Huh. Interesting. That being sad, it kinda does make sense. No force in space to stop you, after you EK, so it makes sense you keep moving... EK movement is perhaps the closest thing to reality we actually have in disco

Shame snubs doesn't regain the energy though...
