Howdy.

As we all know, big transport ships (~3k-5k cargo) are used to grind much money, yes?
What if...there were cargo compressors?

How would they work? Simple:
They use a peculiar and temporary shrinking technology that would increase by a percentage the available cargo hold by shrinking the cargo itself!

I'm a player that likes to fly an Albatross around. Though, this only has 2000 cargo space.
If I buy a compressor, the cargo would be increased by, say, 700 cargo units, allowing me to earn those extra bucks and carry more things.

The idea is nice but..... no.

If this was to be made to happen, the item in question would have to take up cargo space AND use power in some form, plus it would have to cost a fair bit.

Still, NO.

I can't think of any particular reason why not right now, apart from the extra work involved for the people running this mod.

No doubt someone will come up with a reason.

Smaller transports not only have smaller cargo holds but ship size as well (hitbox), more agile and overall survivable than the big cashcows. The smaller hold is the tradeoff. For bigger ones it's survivability. That's the balance.

So... what's the point of the ship having a smaller cargohold in the first place, then?
