Actually, the Tranquility supercluster occupies a WHOLE building, and needs a certain amount of $$$ to keep it running: Electricity, Internet Connectivity, Hardware maintenance, IT staff...
Servers of the size of Freelancer can be run from a private party, but the dedicated servers of EVE... no. So get your facts right before acting childish, without any clue about the resources needed for an online server (imagine the work Igiss puts on the server. Now multiply it by a factor of 10000).
Also, EVE is continuously updated, new features added, game attributes balanced optimisations to the actual engine constantly coded... You think 15 euros are not a fair price, while we may spend 15 euros on a meal in a restaurant...
Not to mention the expansions are FREE.. i actually have 2 accounts on eve Its an Awosme game Im part a a alliance that have accsess to CVA controlled 0.0 and i can make cash at a insane speed killing pirates otu there and its fun only thing i dont like, is death.. it hurts when you loose a flully fitted and rigged battle ship to a gand of pirates...:(i tanked em for 10 mins but they had jammed fo so much that i couldnt even contorl my drones... but any ways i love it
wait... 15 Euros?... lemme convert that its probably even more to me lol... ~ 23 dollars, its even more than i thought. aha they've gotta be crazy. And mars, dont come crying to me when every single game you have to pay online...

It's 15 euros OR 15 dollars. That's why we Eurofags buy Game Cards from the US. I usually pay 9 euros per month, depending the exchange rates.
As for paying for all online game, the moment you instal Vista, you have shown your consent for that billing scheme. Although, there is a difference paying for an online game that is privately hosted, than an online game that actually needs a lot of cash to keep going. Lets say... Freelancer costs no money for Microshaft to provide online capabilities for it, because MS does not host any servers. Yet EVE, with the Tranquility supercluster comprised of 4 thousand + servers, actually costs money to keep going. And when it comes to online games, you usually play one or two of the at a time. Especially with EVE, that is greatly immersive (I took a break from it for personal reasons) you don't need to play anything else, if you like its space theme.
I hate vista, i ordered my computer with XP. i still dont get why microsuck shut down the global server, you know it probably wasnt costing that much money...well,Freelancer 4 Ever as i say...
I played Eve too I got clan and a destroyer it has got difirent fighting method .Anyway it is a good game .But FL is better .Anyway you have to pay when you finish that is a problem. Skills ????!!!!! I hate them in EVE!
Former CEO of BMM I had women, gold, luxury, carpets and luxury liner....
EVE is boring. Point, click. Right click, set circling radius. Select weapons, set weapons. Click. Right click, set speed. Wait three minutes. Boom! Yay! No.
Really though, when the tutorial covers very vaguely as to how to play the game... It doesn't really flow. How do I mine? Meh... How do I buy new ships? Meh... How do I do ANYTHING? Other than fly halfway across the 700 system universe and get paid 200 credits and continue your monotonous missions between your two "contacts".
Much more, with the outrageously large universe, I've only ever seen like, three players in one place and nobody ever uses the chat box. It's basically a solo game unless you go hardcore and join a clan. Like... Like... HAAAYYLOO! Double tap, hotkeys, BR, melee, teabag, stick, beat down, assassinate, snipe, and triple kill! Whoooo...
Not being able to directly control your ship is a major turn-off, though.

3 players a system? You were NOT on Tranquility but singularity or multiplicity servers.. The test servers.. The Tranquility servers have 200+ people in the large systems, with 30-120 in the other 'empire' systems. Nullsec (0.0 sec) has fluctuating numbers.
Also, say the combat is boring when your in a 30 vs 30 player battle.. Its anything but boring. You played for what? A month? What ship class did you get to? Because once your past the frigate-to-cruiser stage is gets much more entertaining and skill-based battles. I really hate it when people play a game for almost no time, then think they can talk about how good or bad it is.. When in a game like EVE that takes quite some time to move upwards (by the sheer amount of stuff you can get/do as you go upwards) and you play it for a small period of time, you can't expect to get into the best stuff or know how good it really is.
Also, if your flying aht far to get between contacts, thats your own fault. For one, you can do missions for just one of those contacts, and you can find a contact in 1 out of 5 empire systems when yoru level 1 and 2. 3 and up and you find almost one per empire system.
Also, is more realistic than FL in its ship control. Do you think an admiral sits there and 'steers' his carrier? No, the controls are put in by; *Gasp* hitting buttons and inputing numbers. And the admiral doesn't do that, his subordinate does. The fighting style allows you to do more stuff with your ship.. In FL all you can do in a cap is turn, shoot, bot/batt, and use CMs/CDs.. You can't fire a broadside while turning. You can in turret view when your not moving, but you can't do a LOT of stuff in FL that you can do in EVE in terms of battles (and everything else). Its more strategy based than; Oh, who has the most armor? I do! I winz!
... Alright then. Sorry, Dab. Didn't mean to offend, I was just saying that I didn't like it. The missions I took on were "Take this here", at least the four that I managed to do before I lost patience.
And no, I played for the trial time which I imagine to be alot worse than if you get good just like any other game. It's like RS when I was like, 8. I was a nub, everything sucked, I got better, gameplay got better. But when the tutorial doesn't tell you how to get a better ship or anything... Well, I didn't like my single-shot rail gun thing and my mining laser.
And yes. It is more realistic because it's being constantly updated. Freelancer was made in what, 2001? This is 2008 and EVE is still being added too. Anyways, basically I didn't have the time nor money to play EVE, so I stuck with something that was free and entertaining. Me sucking and quitting the trial is better than me getting sucked (in) and paying each month for something I don't have much time to dedicate to.
Oh and eh, yeah... Of course an admiral doesn't steer the ship, but FL wasn't meant for you to have your own Battleships either.
Again though, my major complaint is not having known what to do... And I couldn't find anything on their site to help me out. Just a list of the ships that I could get, but had no idea how to.
The difference between the two is this: Freelancer is a GAME on a CD, and whatnot whereas EVE is meant for online play. FL just had the option of, "Lets shoot eachother in Defenders!" until Disco and stuff came out.
Its like comparing GTA IV (story based with an option) with Battlefield. Sure, Battlefield is more realistic with recoil and quick deaths, but GTA was meant for its single player, just like FL. Battlefield was meant for its online play, just like EVE. They can only be compared on a very loose basis beyond preference of gameplay style.
... Aaanyways.
